“No, stop talking. Just hearing about it is giving me anxiety!” 😂

Those were the words of a fellow coach friend when I first told her about what we were about to undertake.

And honestly… I get it. 😂

Because sometimes you get to be part of something so big, so ambitious and so different that it feels a little daunting just trying to explain it.

This is one of those projects.

I’m incredibly proud to be partnering with Precision Built on their Rotokauri development - a seriously ambitious vision bringing together multiple bespoke homes, different architectural styles, shared spaces and a whole lot of moving parts.

It’s not just a development. It’s a completely different way of thinking about what a building company can create and offer its clients.

And I LOVE being part of that kind of thinking.

The kind where you don't just ask “How do we do this?”

You ask “What if we did it differently?”

“What could this become?”

“How do we make the whole thing work?”

There are a LOT of layers to this project, and working alongside the team has had me exercising every ounce of my strategic and creative brain — untangling complexity, connecting the dots, challenging assumptions and helping turn a big, slightly crazy idea into something tangible.

And perhaps that’s why I enjoy this work so much.

Big things rarely start out looking simple.

They require vision.
They require risk.
They require resilience.
They require people willing to keep pulling at the puzzle until the pieces start to make sense.

And when you’re creating something that genuinely hasn't been done before?

That’s when it gets really exciting.

Most founders a few years in don't have a strategy problem. They have a sorting problem.

Give a fired up founder an hour and they'll hand you fifteen ideas. New offer, new hire, rebrand, a content plan, a partnership they're excited about. All of them decent. None of them sequenced.

That's not a lack of ambition. It's the opposite problem. Too many good ideas with no order to them, so everything feels equally urgent and nothing actually moves.

The work isn't generating more ideas. It's building the plan that tells you which one goes first, which one waits, and why.

One founder described what that looked like after just a couple of sessions:

"What stood out most was her discernment, knowing what to focus on now, what to park, and how to sequence it all."

You don't need more ideas. You need someone to help you put the ones you've already got in order.

Let's just say my first experience of digital everything did not quite go to plan, and in the worst possible place.

Not because I'm particularly good at puzzles but because I'm wired to keep looking when something doesn't make sense.

Different angle. Different perspective. Suddenly the way through appears.

Anyone who knows me knows I REFUSE to give up...Be it business or life, there is ALWAYS A WAY THROUGH.

Don't let the pretty face fool you...

I've started businesses. Grown them. Sold them. Watched a few nearly come apart before I worked out how to hold them together. I'm also not as young as I look. (Thanks Mum, for the magic genes)

None of that makes me special. It just means I've sat in the chair you're sitting in... the one where cash flow keeps you up at night, where a hire isn't working out, where you can see the goal but not quite the path there.

That's the actual value I bring to a client relationship. Not motivation. Not another framework. Someone across the table who's lived the mess and can help you find your way through it faster than I did.

One year ago, this version of my life felt impossible.

I was running on adrenaline, carrying more than any one person should, trying to be everything for everyone. From the outside it probably looked like success. Behind the scenes, it was costing me my health, my family, my peace... and eventually my body made the decision for me.

The hardest part wasn't that I was working hard.

It was that I couldn't see another way.

When you're in the middle of it, your perspective narrows. Every decision feels urgent. Every problem feels like yours to solve. You become so close to the business that you lose sight of what's actually possible.

That's why I believe every business owner needs someone outside the business. Not someone to tell them what to do, but someone who can help them see clearly, think strategically, and redesign the way they work before the cost becomes too high.

These days I'm building my business differently. With intention. With flexibility. With room to breathe. Not because I'm working less, but because I'm working in a way that's aligned with the life I actually want to live.

Success shouldn't require sacrificing your health, your family, or your joy.

There's almost always another way.

There comes a point in business where the biggest challenge isn't finding more information.

It's carrying the weight of every decision on your own.

Your team look to you for answers.
Your clients rely on you.
Your family feel the pressure, even if they don't see it.

Leadership can be incredibly lonely.

The most successful business owners I work with aren't the ones who have all the answers. They're the ones who know the value of having someone they can think out loud with. Someone who will challenge their assumptions, ask the questions others won't, and help them see what they can't from inside the business.

You weren't meant to carry it all alone.

It's amazing what you can see in someone else's business that they can't see themselves...
I can usually spot the bottleneck in a business within one conversation.

Not because I have all the answers but because I'm not standing in the middle of it.
When you're inside your business every day, everything feels important.
Idea's and options everywhere, every problem feels urgent, and you just know there's a fire smouldering in the background somewhere... 🔥💨

Before long, you're spending your time fixing symptoms instead of the thing that's actually holding you back.

That's where having another set of eyes changes everything. Someone to zoom out, ask the right questions, challenge your thinking, help you to see what you've been too close to see, and bring some genuine mental relief.

That's the work I love.

I'm also at a point where I'm being really intentional about how I spend my time.
