Footwork Dancesport Studio

27/10/2026

The gloomy, wet ride into the office this morning was a stark contrast to the bright lights, dazzling dresses and buzz of the 2026 New Zealand Open Dance Championship.🌟🇳🇿

Michael joined dance professionals from across New Zealand and overseas for three days and nights of judging, and a small group of Footworkers gave up their weekend, working behind the scenes to help the event run smoothly. Thanks team! Your efforts were really appreciated. ❤️

Now it's time to focus on this Saturday's Halloween party at the studio.💀 Who's joining us?

Group photo L to R: Michael, me (Kim), Megan, Gregory, Christine, Scott and Miriam. We missed the a chance to snap a pic with Addison and Alastair.

It's been way too long since our last Thé Dansant, and what a perfect way it was to brighten a gloomy Saturday. Everyone outdid themselves with stunning table settings and irresistible afternoon tea treats. To top it off we enjoyed an early celebration for Alastair's birthday (thanks for bringing cake Sheryl). A fabulous afternoon all round. Here's a few snaps that Ange kindly shared with us.

Thanks, Hamilton Dancesport Club - we had a wonderful time at your ball last night. It was especially great to share the evening with so many people from the studio. We're looking forward to the next one!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us throughout 2025. ❤️ We loved welcoming so many new dancers this year and had an incredible time celebrating another great year of dance with those who joined our festivities on Saturday. 💃 🕺 🎅

⏰ The studio is now closed for the summer break. Private lessons will resume the week of 5 January and classes will restart the week of 19 January.

👏🏻 We can’t wait to see you back on the dance floor in the new year.

Wow! What an awesome day of dance at the studio. We are so proud of everyone who danced their medals today, and the amazing support crew cheering each dancer on. A big thank you to our examiner and NZFDT lifetime executive member, Erica. She had great things to say about the standard of dance and no doubt there will be some helpful advice and work-ons when we get the results. As always, a shout out to those who helped with music, typing and moving chairs around, as well as partnering some of the medalists.
