‘Owning It - The Ride That Changed My Life’

What better way to commemorate the 8 year anniversary of my accident than to finally announce the upcoming release of my autobiography!!!

This has without a doubt been the biggest undertaking of my life and the toughest challenge I’ve set myself, so I’m beyond excited to have it completed and ready to share with you.
I was offered a ghost writer to help write my story, but I refused as I wanted to achieve this myself. So after 5 years of writing, using only a mouthstick stylus to type each letter, I submitted around 450,000 words to my publisher Allen & Unwin (the longest memoir they’ve ever received). From there it’s taken about a year to edit it down to a digestible first person telling of my life, from my pursuit of a career as a pro wakeboarder, to my life changing spinal cord injury and navigating the huge challenges that followed. This book is packed full of my own learnings that I hope will help others navigate life’s challenges, no matter how big or small.
Honestly, I couldn’t be more proud of myself for seeing it through to completion, as I had to rip open the wounds and face my biggest demons in order to be able to heal, and now I’m ready to share it all openly for the world to read.

At only 23 years old, Ty's racked up his fair share of accolades, and then some. During his rookie year in 2018, Ty took third at X Games Real Wake, won the Pro Wakeboard Tour Rookie of the Year, and landed the first ever wake-to-wake switch double mute mobe—and the accomplishments have continued year after year.

Ty’s progressive style and creativity behind the boat has inspired and influenced both the newer generation as well as the older generation of wakeboarders. Between his work ethic, maturity beyond his years, or humble attitude, it was a no brainer to work with this guy.
