I am writing to inform you that as you may have noticed, the Hamilton Canoe Polo Club has unfortunately been inactive for the past year due to a decline in membership and the resignation of key committee members. However, we believe in the potential of our club and are reaching out to our community for support.

We are urgently seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about Canoe Polo and willing to take on the responsibility of running the club. Your enthusiasm and commitment will be crucial in revitalizing our activities and ensuring the continuation of Canoe Polo in the Waikato.

Here are official 2022 International Canoe Polo Rules as well as a good summary video Hawkes Bay Canoe Polo has created. The summary video is geared towards becoming a reff so has a bit about how to reff and also has the gameplay rules.
The international rules had some changes at the start of the year so if you do not think you are up to date, please have a read.

IT'S BACK ON!

It is that time of year again where we need to dust off the kayaking gear and get back in a boat!

Hamilton Canoe Polo will be starting back up at Hamilton Girls High School Pool in October. Please access through Gate 12 off Hill Street.

This is a fun, enjoyable, fast paced sport which encourages teamwork, strategy, ball skills and gives you a great upper body workout!

Hello guys,

The last few weeks we've only been having 6 people come to polo. This week I already know 2 of those 6 are down and won't be able to make it.
Please comment on here or message me if you are planing on playing tonight, if we have less than 6 it will not be worth running and we will cancel tonight.

Hello Everyone,

A reminder that canoe polo will still be running tonight and through the red traffic light system.

A note for all - Hamilton Canoe Polo Club has decided to do our part in reducing the spread and effective immediately, all entry into Open grade club nights will be subject to having a vaccine pass.

Please remember to bring it on the night or send it through to us via email.

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to say, with the drop to Alert Level 2 last week we are now allowed to play canoe polo again!

As you can imagine, the recent lockdown has changed our plans a bit so this round will look different to usual.

-For School Grade we are just running two open nights, this Wednesday and next 4:30-6pm (24th November & 1st December). This is open to all high school age students who would like to attend. School coordinator please share this information around your school. it is a $10 on the night fee for each night you play. There will be a little bit of training and mixed team games.

-For Open Grade we are running a short 4 week season pre christmas every Wednesday from this week 24th November till 15 December 6-7pm. Due to the length of the season we do not have season fees, like school grade it will be $10 on the night for each night played.

-For the few school students that play both open and school grade it will be $15 for the night.

Games are at Hamilton Girls High School Pool, Access from Gate 12 on Hill Street.

Hello everyone,

Just to keep you all updated, we have had a couple alert level changes since my last communication. Unfortunately these alert shifts have not changed anything for Hamilton Canoe Polo, we are still waiting to drop to an alert level that allows team sports sharing gear.
We will let everyone know when this happens!

On another note, I have a message from Jayden our Competitions Captain.

Hello,

It's that time of the year again where we need to start thinking about competitions for next year. Obviously we are currently in a difficult climate with everything going on at the moment, so all dates are reliant on restrictions allowing us to go ahead by then.

Below I have listed the competitions that we have traditionally attended or are looking at attending. These competitions accommodate a wide range of skill levels, so if you haven't competed before and are wanting to try your first competition do not hesitate to get in touch and we can see if we can accommodate your needs.

If you have any interest in competing at any level or in competitions not listed here please let me know and we will try our best to find a way to make it work
