Hello golfers,

Only one match was played this past weekend, on Saturday, November 15th, as the road was closed on Sunday for railway repairs.

The Presidents Cup was not played due to a low turnout, and a Stableford was instead played.

Results:

1st Ric Moor - 36 points
2nd Wayne Thomas - 35 points

Next weekend will have matches both days starting at 12:30 pm.

Evening,
Raymond and his helpers have done a great job wrestling the golf course back into shape after our two month monsoon and it helps ease the pain (a little) of a bad round to play on such a well presented course. Speaking of, Raymond is starting green coring from tomorrow so the front 9 will be out of action for the day and if anyone is free to help from 10 am that would be great.
On to results and Saturdays American stableford was won by Jason Lister with an impressive 60 points ahead of Corbin McMillan second with 58 and then Bryan Jamieson third on 56. Corbin went one better on Sunday winning the medal match with a nett 67, comfortably ahead of runner up Kev Thomas with a nett 70.
The greens were running true with Ric Moor, Wayne Thomas, Kev Thomas, Michael Cook and Graham Sinclair each recording a two.
With the Golf links road rail bridge being closed for maintenance this Sunday (someone better tell the police not to set their bridge trap cause it will be empty) obviously there will be no access to the course so the Presidents Cup has been moved to this Saturday. This trophy winning competition is where you get to play golf like our President, as in only 4 clubs in the bag. Any 4, it's your choice and in the words of Bradley Walsh on 'The Chase' come and have a go if you think you are clever enough.
Finally, as Jason has already posted our pre Christmas tournament has been moved forward a week to December 7th, you will get reminded nearer the time.

Lucky golfing,

GGC

From Raymond:
I'm going to close the front nine tomorrow morning to core the greens. If anyone has a couple of hours tomorrow can they ring or text please 0278191818. The cores are only the size of a rabbit pellet and it isn't a big job to clear them but it would great if we could get them up as quick as possible. Cheers.

Also the course will be closed Sunday as golf links road is closed due to bridge work, and the racecourse aren't allowing access through.

Pleasant evening all,

Only one result from the weekend and that was a 4 ball best ball stableford held on Saturday with the winning pair of Corbin McMillan and Jason Lister combining best with 44 points, just one ahead of Murray MacGibbon and Wayne Russell on 43.

Wayne also bagged the only two to make it a double dip for the day.

The forecast for this weekend is currently looking good so hopefully we can get more players out on course and matches will be arranged depending on numbers.

Lucky golfing,

GGC
