Westland Recreation Centre The Westland Recreation Centre is the sports and recreation hub in Greymouth on the West Coast. Welcome to the Westland Recreation Centre's page.

The purpose of this page is to:

We'll do our best to answer any queries you may have about our Centre, services or classes. We might ask you to contact us by email or phone if we are unable to reply on Facebook. “There’s a broad age range. Come on down poolside for a chat if you are interested,” says Swim Fit instructor Amara.

A competition swimmer, she spent years running the Swim School and coaches the swim club.

Swim Fit is not aimed at those learning to swim. The Rec Centre has other options for that. Instead, it is a cardio workout.

“It’s full body,” Amara says. She helps people swim “more efficiently”.

“They don’t just swim up and down the pool all the time. It’s so good for the body, with less impact on joints.”

The cost of the Friday class is $15, but if you have Group Fit, it is included in the membership. Contact the Rec Centre for more information.
