Attention members important information,
The committee has met to discuss some important decisions for the upcoming season.
A decision has been made to change the race format back to its original racing in classes for this season as we have a few new members in new roles and this is the easiest way to run things.
The classes that will run will be ROOKIES,JUNIORS,ROTAX EVO,ROTAX STD,KT100,OPEN.These will be run over 3 heats of F,M,B grid draws.
The feature will still be run from a marble draw grid system. We have also decided there will be NO JOKER LAP for this race as
1 its dangerous
2 its confusing for flag marshalls to follow who is leading the race and how many joker laps each kart has done.
Another decision made about the race direction is our first points day will be run the usual way, then the next points meeting will be run in reverse, with the fun\club day before each points meeting to be run in the same direction as the following points meeting to allow for any kart setup changes to be checked out at the fun\club day if u wish.
At this stage we dont have a timing box person so this will be set up to run all day, this will give you a overall best lap time for the day not each heat.If anyone knows someone that may be willing to learn the system please let a committee member know.
For the kids class heats it was brought up that the hairpin can be challenging for them with frequentcrashes and pile ups,It was suggested they run on the old track only,The committee discussed this and have decided since the track has been altered a little bit and the hairpin opened up a bit to be less sharp of a corner we will monitor them going the usual track and if there are less crashes here it will remain the same,If these crashes are still a problem then it will be changed to running them on the old track only.
This season we will trial parents being allowed to stand in a designated area on the infeild with there starters and will be allowed to restart there child if they should stall during a race when it is safe and clear track to do so.This will be discussed with parents at the first practise meeting.
we look forward to getting the season underway very soon!!
REMINDER please make sure you have your season membership done before our first practise day.
