This little speedster won the Pine Hollow gallop last year on little Rosie (Pine Hollow Sparkling Rose). She's back for more.

Born and bred in Gisborne, Ava Stone is a 12 year old rider with a passion for ponies that started in 2016 when she attended her first school holiday programme at Riverview Treks & Pinehollow Riding School. Since then she has joined the show team and gone from strength to strength under owner Jacquie Paull’s watchful eye. Her achievements include winning the Devery Cup at the Wairoa Show in 2018 on Pine Hollow Dashing Dream and winning the kids gallop at the Gisborne Races in 2019 on Holio Sparkling Rose.

Ava is sponsored by Stone Transport & Hiab Limited, a local business run by her father Mahana Stone. She has chosen Gisborne St John as her charity as a nod to the many volunteer hours they spend at riding events around the district.

Ava is saddling up Pine Hollow Holly this year for her charity. Remember to vote for her on the day, the voting forms are in the race book. St John Op Shop Gisborne
