HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO LEARN FROM NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONS?

Julie Walker and Jaeda Mapu—The AUNTIE$—are the 2026 Hip Hop Unite NZ Masters Duo champions and have qualified to represent Aotearoa at the World Championships in Tauranga this October.

Before they take on the world stage, they’re joining us for a relaxed and supportive introduction to shuffle—and we’ll all be learning together.

Most of us are absolute beginners. No one is expected to arrive already knowing what they’re doing, and there’s certainly no expectation of perfection! Julie and Jaeda will break everything down, give us time to practise and help us have plenty of fun along the way.

We’ll learn some of the basic shuffle building blocks, including the Running Man, T-step and simple transitions, then have a go at piecing them together.

Then join us at Unity Theatre that evening for BACK TO THE DANCEFLOOR—our ’90s, 2000s and Party Rock dress-up party.

Can’t attend the workshop? You can still come to the party. You don’t have to know how to shuffle—you just have to enjoy a good dance and a bit of fun.

RnL Christmas is heading up the Coast!

We’re heading to the iconic pub at the Tolaga Bay Inn with one of the best-kept secrets around— a smokin’ dance floor! Come for a day and night of dancing, kai, drinks, dress-ups, saloon-style!

The Song- The Dance - The Movie-
Think Wild Wild West saloon glamour with a little 1999 swagger. Emerald, burgundy, black and gold. Velvet, leather, lace, fringe, feathers, corsets, waistcoats, fabulous hats, gamblers, outlaws and showgirls.

Coming from Gisborne? We’re working on a return bus so you can ride up the Coast with us and head home that night.

Coming from further afield or making a weekend of it? Hitch your wagon and bring the camper, park outside the Inn or head to Blue Waters freedom camping by the beach. There’s also a local TOP 10.

We’re looking at kicking things off on Friday night with a casual beginner line dance session, open to locals and visitors. Perfect if you’re new, bringing a mate or partner, or just want a dance or two under your shiny belt before Saturday.
