DAY THREE TOURNAMENT ROUND UP - Another big day for GHS, with some fantastic results across the teams!

๐Ÿ‘ Girls Hockey
A brilliant 1โ€“0 win against Middleton/Hillview! The girls dominated possession throughout the game, with the opposition only making it into our circle three times. With just 48 seconds left on the clock, GHS earned a stroke and took the win! So proud of the girls!

๐Ÿ‘ Boys Hockey
A 0โ€“1 loss to Rangiora in a game where the boys played with great intensity and determination. Ethan Hall was outstanding, and the boys defended strongly, facing around 15 penalty corners. Theyโ€™re straight back into action tomorrow at 8am, playing 4th place from Pool A. Hopefully they can continue to build that momentum!

๐Ÿ‰ Rugby
A fantastic finish to the tournament with two wins today, against Trinity and Cromwell! A great way to end the campaign. Interestingly, the tournament final was won by Wakatipu, who defeated John Paul II โ€” meaning our boys had the tough job of playing both the 1st and 2nd placed teams in the tournament! They should be very proud of their efforts.

๐Ÿ Netball
The girls showed plenty of fight today, narrowly losing by just 3 goals to Wakatipu this morning before finishing the day with a 25โ€“25 draw against Menzies. This sees the girls finish second in their second pool and theyโ€™ll play off for 21stโ€“24th place in A Grade tomorrow. A determined effort from the whole team!

๐Ÿ€ Basketball
What a start for the boys! They opened the tournament with an 87โ€“76 win over Garin College, wearing their new white strip! Felix was the standout, knocking down three 3-pointers in a row โ€” what a hat-trick! The boys backed that up tonight with another strong performance against John Paul II, coming away with a convincing 99โ€“80 win. An excellent day for the team!

Well done GHS! G-UP!

Another big day for all our GHS players, taking on some very strong opposition.

๐Ÿ‘ Girls Hockey
A tough 7โ€“0 loss to STAC today, but the girls put in a fantastic effort. They held STAC to just 3โ€“0 heading into the final quarter and continued to battle right to the end. Regardless of the score, it was a really impressive game of hockey from the girls!

๐Ÿ Netball
A tough start with a 55โ€“28 loss to Ashburton College this morning, but a great effort from the whole team. They bounced back brilliantly this afternoon with a fantastic 35โ€“18 win over Craighead!

๐Ÿ‘ Boys Hockey
The boys faced a strong Roncalli 1st XI and went into halftime 0โ€“3 down. They showed great resilience in the second half, keeping Roncalli scoreless and holding the final score at 0โ€“3. A huge defensive effort!

๐Ÿ‰ Rugby
A tough day for the rugby boys, coming up against Wakatipu, who finished pool play ranked 2nd, followed by Waimea. Despite losses in both games, the boys continued to work hard and never gave up. Tomorrow morning they take on Trinity and Cromwell in a three-way battle at the bottom of the table. Bring it on!

๐Ÿ€ Basketball
The boys travelled to Dunedin tonight and are ready to get their campaign underway tomorrow. Good luck, boys!

A huge well done to all our teams today โ€” the results donโ€™t always go our way, but the effort, attitude and GHS spirit certainly do!

Day One Results Are In!

It was a tough day at the office for all our teams, but the GHS spirit was on full display throughout the day. While the results didnโ€™t quite go our way, our coaches were really pleased with the effort, attitude and determination shown by all of our students.

๐Ÿ‰ Rugby
It was a very cold, wet and windy day in Westport for our rugby team. They faced two tough opponents, going down 30โ€“19 to St Peterโ€™s and 47โ€“17 to John Paul II. A huge effort from the team in challenging conditions!

๐Ÿ‘ Boys Hockey
The boys fought hard against Christโ€™s College 2nd XI, eventually going down 4โ€“2. A great effort from the team and plenty of positives to take into tomorrow.

๐Ÿ‘ Girls Hockey
The girls faced Kaiapoi in a competitive game, finishing with a 3โ€“0 loss. They worked hard right to the final whistle and showed plenty of determination.

๐Ÿ Netball
Two tough battles on the court against STAC and Dunstan resulted in losses for our netball team. The girls gave it everything and will be ready to bounce back tomorrow.

Bring on Day Two! Go GHS!
