Week 3 of our 5-week challenge 💪🔥
When it starts to feel comfortable, we add more.

Last week, our Fit Fam took on a wall sit challenge to test lower body endurance and mental grit.

Wall sits target the quads, glutes, and core, helping build the strength and staying power we need for everyday life and HYROX training.

We progressed it with plates, kettlebells, sandbags, and medicine balls — and everyone stepped up and gave it a go 💪

HYROX Wall Ball Technique 💪🔥

We’re into Week 3 of our 5-week challenge and we’re working on wall balls this week.

Shiloh making wall balls look easy... 💪🔥

One of the biggest mistakes I see is treating the squat and throw as two separate movements.

Notice how Shiloh hits depth, then uses the drive from her legs to help power the ball to the target.

As you drive up from the squat, start the throw before you're fully standing. This allows you to use the power from your legs to help get the ball to the target rather than relying on your arms and shoulders.

The same goes for the catch. Have your hands ready and start moving into your squat just before the ball reaches you. You'll absorb the weight better, take pressure off your arms, and keep a much smoother rhythm.

A few extra tips that make a big difference: • Keep your hands ready under the ball — don't wait for it to drop
• Aim for the same target every rep to stay efficient and consistent
• Stay relaxed through your shoulders and let your legs do the work
• Settle into a rhythm rather than rushing the first set of reps

Think of it as one continuous movement.

Less effort. More efficiency. More reps. 🔥💪

Wellness Warrior of the Month – Tabitha 💛

A massive shout-out to our Wellness Warrior of the Month, Tabitha!

Tabitha first joined us at Sweat & Strength while at uni, and when I introduced a later evening class called Slow Sculpt, she’s been showing up and supporting it consistently since May 2023 — week after week, month after month.

Coming to class 2–3 times every week isn’t luck — it’s consistency. From starting with 3–4kg dumbbells to now lifting 10–15kg dumbbells, her progress has been built through dedication and hard work.

💪She quietly and consistently sets the bar high, always pushing her limits (even if she has no choice 🫣).

Tabitha continues to smash new PBs, with recent PRs across her back squat, deadlift, chest press, and sumo squats. She inspires us all with her quiet determination, positive attitude, and commitment to getting stronger.

She’s already making a fantastic start to our Wellness Fit 4Rox Challenge, and I can’t wait to see what she achieves next.

Tabitha, thank you for choosing Wellness Fit 4life for your workouts and for being such a valued part of our fitness family.

Congratulations on all the PBs you’ve smashed and every class you’ve shown up for — we’re so proud of you! 💪💛
