Hi all,
Apologies, tonight was supposed to be the final skills and drills session but we will be postponing that to next Monday the 15th as I am unwell and the wind is a bit crazy this afternoon. I can't see the netting goals staying put for us tonight.

SKILLS AND DRILLS STARTING NEXT MONDAY 27TH 5:15PM - 6:15PM (yes, I am aware it is a public holiday, this will still be the evening we begin so we don't get too late into the term).

If there are any postponements due to weather, we will run for an extra week to make up the session.
Any postponements will be made on this page at 4pm on the day.

Please find the groups below and the layout of the turf. This will be your children's group over the full 6 weeks of skills and drills and they will start on the same turf space each week. Groups will start on the same number as the corresponding turf space number.

They will begin on their original turf space doing the activities for 15 minutes, the full group will then rotate to the next space upwards (towards the road side) if they were on the space closest to the road already, they will rotate to the opposite end as shown in the turf layout picture.

They will then rotate again after another 15 minutes following the same direction for a new skills & drills activity.

Then on the 3rd rotation, they will end up back at their original turf space they started on for a mini game for the last 15 minutes.

For example: Group 1's evenings will be as follows...
First 15 minutes - Turf 1
Second 15 minutes - Turf 2
Third 15 minutes - Turf 3
Game - Turf 1
A siren will go off each 15 minutes to signal the beginning, each rotation, and finish.

Hi all!

Final night tonight!!!
Kid's vs Adults!

The plan for tonight is to run 4 turfs split in quarters with the large wooden goals for the entire time. I think it will be best to have larger spaces with adults out there and there will be plenty of kids to fill the space on their side, also the wooden goals will stay put in this wind a heck of a lot more than the small netting goals.

There are no byes, all teams are welcome.

Year 0-2 will be on first from 5:15pm to 5:35pm
Turf 1: MSS Manuka, MSS H**e, MSS Kowhai, MSS Korokio, MSS Harakeke
Turf 2: Halcombe Black, Halcombe Red, Halcombe White, Newbury Ravens, Newbury Hawks
Turf 3: St Jo's Tahi, St Jo's Rua, LSS Blue, LSS Green, LSS Red
Turf 4: Colyton, Oroua Bears, Oroua Cubs, Oroua Pandas, NSS Kowhai, NSS Whero

Year 3-4 will be on next from 5:40pm to 6pm
Turf 1: MSS Korimako, MSS Kereru, MSS Kakapo, St Jo's Toru
Turf 2: Newbury Gladiators, Oroua Tigers, Oroua Lions
Turf 3: Halcombe Yellow, Halcombe Green, Halcombe Blue
Turf 4: NSS Kakariki, NSS Pango, LSS Yellow, Colyton

Year 5-6 will then finish on the turf from 6:10pm - 6:40pm

Turf 4: LSS Gold, St Jo's Wha

All parents are welcome to jump on the turf, we have spare sticks if you don't have your own.

We won't worry about half times or subbing as these games are just fun ones and the coaches will probably be the opposition anyway and uneven numbers. So just free for all playing and if you or your kid need to go off for a drink of water or a breather just go for it whenever 👍

I will also jump out there with the year 3-4's and 5-6's for Lytton so if you need anything and can't find me, I will be on those turfs whooping some kids at hockey 😂 If any first aid or ice packs are needed please come find me on turf 4 during either of the last 2 games.

Game times will run the same as usual tonight (year 0-2 at 5:15pm, year 3-4 at 5:40pm and year 5-6 at 6:10pm) but I will put a post up around lunch time what teams are on which turf and the layout and how it will go.

Beautiful evening for hockey last night!

Big thank you to the intermediate school umpires who gave it a go on their own last night and to the adults who jumped on a turf to umpire as well, it was great to be able to go ahead last night on such a sunny day.

Next week is the final week which is kids vs adults.

I will put a reminder for this up closer to Monday and go over how it will run.
