Husky ZK USK out looking for the Orca pod today after possible sightings in the area. No luck as yet but the search continues.

Yesterday we took off from Paraparaumu with a pilot and a whale rescue spotter on board to search the south coast for the Orca pod. Sightings of the pod in and around Island Bay had been reported earlier, however we could not find any sign of them. We continued our search along the coast and as far round as north of Turakirae Head. Sadly no luck yesterday but we will keep trying to find them. A really big thank you to the guys in Air Traffic Control in Wellington for making it possible to operate this flight in their airspace and also to DOC and Whale Rescue for all their help.
