Eketahuna Golf Club

Eketahuna Golf Club Eketahuna Golf Club the best summer golf course south of the Black Stump. Enjoy 18 spectacular holes Dress is casual.

On the edge of the township of Eketahuna the gateway to Kiwi Country, sits an 18 hole golf club set along the banks of the picturesque Makakahi River. For those people just passing through stop and play a few holes or maybe all eighteen, you will be glad you did, it's clean, green country New Zealand and just the place to stop, relax and enjoy before travelling on. The course is an easy walk with

just a few short uphill walks to elevated tees. All greens are secured from the sheep (they can't putt) ensuring that the only obstacle to that magic one putt is your skill and a bit of "Irish" luck. Sunday, starting at 12 Noon is club day for all Members (visitors welcome) and starting at 10.00am on a Tuesday is Ladies Day. Twilight golf runs through the summer months each Wednesday evening starting at 5pm. We also have a full calender of events, including a Pro Am every January in conjunction with Masterton Golf Club. The Sheep Track
The Sheep Track is for those who have only a short time to visit but would like to play golf and see our most picturesque holes. Starting on hole twelve (12) it consists of seven (7) holes and can be played in around 60 - 90 minutes The route is holes 12,13, 14, 18, 1, 10 and 11. Green Fees are NZ$25 per round or part round.

$20 per person for groups over 20 if arranged with the club prior to playing. Playing with a financial Eketahuna member, reciprocal rights club members, or groups of 9 hole players $15

Cards and green fee stickers can be obtained from the covered area just outside the front door to the Clubhouse. (Shoes on course not to be worn in clubhouse please)

The annual Stockies Cockies Golf Tournament was held on Friday 8 May at the Eketahuna Golf Club, bringing together stock agents, rural supply companies and local farming people for a fun and social day on the course.
Proudly supported by businesses and livestock companies from throughout the Wairarapa the tournament featured a prize table with a strong rural flavour. BBQ food and refreshments were available throughout the day, adding to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Special prizes included fertiliser products and a transport voucher for farmers, rural outdoor clothing, novelty prizes for accurate shots onto the green or down the fairway, and the much sought-after “Golden Shovel”.

Tournament results were:
• Overall Winner: Simon Buckley
• Golden Shovel: Keith Harris (Pahiatua)
• Outdoor Oven and BBQ: Richard Hodge

Two’s were achieved by Kevin Walker, Steve Milgate and Stephen Marsden.

The winning lady for the day was Rae-ann Beaman

The day concluded with an auction of selected products before competitors and supporters enjoyed a BBQ evening meal and the main prizegiving. The tournament once again proved to be a successful and enjoyable occasion for the rural community.
