We’re kicking off the season a little later than planned this year - but we’re excited to announce that waterskiing lessons are now open for bookings throughout December! Perfect for beginners of all ages who are keen to build confidence on the water before Christmas.

A few photos to wrap up an awesome season of skiing at Lake Crichton!

It has been amazing to see so many people out on the water this summer! From our youngest at just 4 years old to our oldest in their 60s, it’s been fantastic to witness the progress, determination and enjoyment of so many.

One of the season’s highlights was the return of the novice tournament. It was awesome to see so many enthusiastic skiers giving it a go, and there’s a high chance it will be back in 2026!

A massive thank you to Chris and Robyn for making this all possible. Your generosity has created a facility for people to learn, improve and enjoy their time on the water. Also, a huge thank you to everyone who has come out this summer and in seasons past. Meeting so many incredible people has been a privilege.

Getting things ready for the Lake Crichton Water Ski Park “have a go” event, on today from 9am.

This fun event has been specially designed to give recreational water skiers a taste of what our tournaments are like. Skiing entries closed earlier in the week, but if you’re curious to see what our sport is all about come out for a look.

COME ALONG AND HAVE A GO!

This fun event has been specially designed to give recreational water skiers a taste of what our tournaments are like. All skiers will get four passes, whether they're doing wake crossings, or taking a crack at the mini course or full course (with or without gates). There'll be some laughs, coaching and a sausage sizzle!

TIME & DATE: 9am, Saturday 1 February

PLACE: Lake Crichton Water Ski Park, Dunsandel

ENTRIES: By 6pm on Wednesday, 29 January to Carrie Wallis ([email protected]) with your participants' names, ages and whether they're wake crossing, or in the mini slalom course or full course.

COST: $50 for two rounds. Please pay Lake Crichton, 02-0836-0146763-003

Over November and December we have had an incredible turnout of 60+ people join us for lessons. It has been fantastic to see such a diverse group get involved, from our youngest skier at just six years old to our oldest in their 60s. Everyone has made great progress, with many getting up on two skis, dropping a ski, getting up on one ski, running the slalom course, tricking and jumping.

Have a go tournament opportunity at at Northbrook Waters in Rangiora before Christmas. Great opportunity to meet some new people and give tournament skiing a go.

Entries close Monday, 16 December and tournament numbers are capped so you’ll need to be in quick if you’re keen!!!
