TEAM TROPHIES THIS SEASON:
Senior Batting Trophy: Xavier Chisholm
Moving back to his junior club after a brief hiatus, “Chis” had a barnstorming season at the top of the order for the Hounds. With 366 runs at an average of 22.88 and a SR of 81.88, he could always be relied on to get the team off to a flier.
Senior Bowling Trophy: Vinay Chandrappa
An extremely deceptive bowler, Vinay continued to go about his business with crafty variations and a consistent line and length. 16 wickets at 18.63 and a SR of 24.50 is nothing to be sneezed at.
Second Grade Batting Trophy: Charles Hendry
A seriously classy batsman, Charles stroked his way to 380 runs at an average of 34.55 for the Seconds this season, including a best of 102 against University Grange. His season culminated in a thoroughly deserved call-up to the Hounds.
Second Grade Bowling Trophy: John Gordon
Much like Chis, “Gordo” made the wise decision to come across town and join us. Boy has it paid off. Hitting a consistent line and length all season and executing under pressure, Gordo snared 19 wickets at 4.72 and a SR of 23.11. He also finished as the grade’s leading T20 wicket taker - 6 wickets from 4 games at an average of 16.17 and SR of 16. But the highlight of his season? 5/55 against University Grange.
Third Grade Batting: Bijin Paul
With 244 runs at 18.77 and a SR of 71.55, Bijin led the charge with the willow for our new boys the Tuskers this season. Look for more from him next season.
Third Grade Bowling: Mathew Varghese
A classy operator, Matthew had batsmen in all sorts this season with his seam and swing, finishing up with 23 wickets at 16.35 and a SR of 19.7, good for 3rd in the grade.
Fourth Grade Batting: Michael Fraser
Bombs were the order of the season for “Frase”, as he punished his way to 274 runs at 30.4 - good for 5th in the grade. We’re unsure on his strike rate - but it’s most likely somewhere between 100 and 200.
Fourth Grade Bowling: Jason Marshall
For the umpteenth year running, “Marshy” frustrated endless batsmen with his unerring accuracy. 19 wickets at an average of just over 12 and a SR of around 20, Marshy topped 4th grade for wickets and for best bloke.
