The Otago Women's team are in the winner's circle, having scored in the 55th and 57th minute to flip their match with Counties on its head!

It was a rip roarer of a game, with Olivia Rickerby opening the scoring inside 30 seconds to set the tone. Counties pulled one back in the second quarter, and went ahead in the third, but our girls never panicked.

Claudia Roberts equalised from a penalty corner, before local girl Hannah Hunter proved the hero with the winner!

The team are in great spirits, and will enjoy tomorrow's rest day before the crossovers begin!

The Senior Men have taken the scenic route, but they have eventually wrapped up top two in the group with an entertaining win over Wairarapa.

The Tier One newbies pushed the lads all the way, but eventually we proved too strong, as Oliver Battrick grabbed his first two goals of the week.

Tomorrow will be a rest day, before a bumper quarter final against either Waikato or Northland.

Our Otago teams are already out on the national stage, proudly representing our province and giving it everything theyโ€™ve got.

For these players, wearing the Otago shirt is about more than just the hockey. Itโ€™s the result of countless hours of training, commitment, travel and sacrifice โ€” and the support of the people around them.

With our teams currently competing at National Tournaments, weโ€™re asking our wider Otago hockey community to get behind them and help support the costs that come with representing Otago.

Micah Duckles pulled one back late, but the Otago Men ultimately fell to defeat against defending champions Canterbury this afternoon.

A bit of a non-event of a game, the Cantabs flexed their muscles with a couple of belting strikes. Our lads were in it throughout, but struggled to break down what is a very strong Cavs defence.
