On Saturday night, a small bit of history was made for Metro and Metro Muskets indoor cricket.

For the last 2 years Metro has been apart of the Southern Premier Super League for indoor cricket. A monthly mini tournament where 4 teams all play each other once in the same night. This year to keep us alive in the competition, we partnered with the North Canterbury Rams, to form the Musket/Rams.

Each Premier series, the holders of the Southern Indoor Sports Challenge Shield, put it up for challenge against one of the teams they face on that day of the series.

On Saturday night at Action Hornby in Christchurch, the Musket/Rams played the holders Howzat.
At the end of that game, for the first time since April 1991, Metro are now holders of the Challenge shield!
With last Saturday evening being the final series for 2025, Metro get to keep hold of the shield until next year when we will be challenged for it at the first series of 2026.

Happening this Saturday night!

Metro plays host to the Canterbury Premiership Super League series #3.

The finest indoor cricketers from clubs in Christchurch make the trip south to take on our Metro Muskets prems.

Here are the details:
Where: Metro Indoor Sports Dunedin (93 Crawford Street)
When: 5:30pm First games get underway
Cost: Spectators FREE
