Thankyou Everyone that's supported my zumba class in Hamilton since 2019!
I'm grateful for each and everyone of you that came out last night, your presence, gifts, performance and hugs gave me so much warmth and love..
Below is my speech I gave last night..
6 years ago ( a few years after completing my instructor training)
I posted on this area's community about starting a zumba class in this area and on the 5th June 2019 was the first official launch day of my zumba class here in Te Ao Marama School.
Through time I got some regular students which was pretty awesome!!
I was just flicking through my page for photos yesterday and we realized we actually did quite a few events and dressups together ( breastcancer,
fundraiser, Tutu night, Halloween party, Pj and Neon party and our anual Xmas dressups.)
We even stuck it out through a global pandemic (that was hard, not being able to dance for yonks physically.) And even had few outdoor classes with social distancing was an interesting experience!
We've also been there for each others different stages in life..
There has been regulars that's moved away, migrated, celebrated significant birthday milstones, some had a baby and came back. You guys seen me go from single to getting married ( So for the past few years we've even gotten a professional videographer-🤣)
Of course throughout the years there has been challenges also where I wonder if I should discontinue class.
But the feedback I got from you guys kept me going...
I wil share some with you:
-Some found coming to zumba, carried them through difficult life challenges: losses and sadness and bought them joy and happiness.
-A breather among busy work and family life.
-Make an uncoordinated person actually enjoy dancing
- Gave them a healthier active lifestyle
-A place to socialize and ...
This place became a happy zumba family ..a weekly routine to see and care for each other.
I think you guys can agree, our relationship has transcended from being just an instructor and students to really good zumba family friends.
I never took for granted the support I've been getting from you all because without you guys there wouldn't be this class here standing for so long.
Although my departure is so sudden( I'm truly sorry, I am surprised too myself)
I've really enjoyed teaching you all, befriending yoh all and you all energized me every week!
I encourage you all to keep dancing, active and keep positive and please do stay in touch.
Love you all so much and will miss you dearly.
Vicky
