Good luck to all our Ariki athletes competing today at the Children’s Champs.

Parents please read the below carefully.

Children must be in the correct uniform ( Ariki singlet, black shorts). Competition number must be worn.

Results will be posted on Athletic Net immediately so please look there for results. If you fail to turn up to a final you will be unable to compete in any other events in that day.

Please listen out for being called to an event. Children then wait at the gate to be collected. No parents inside the track.

Parents please make sure you help out at discus. If there are already 4 people there for a round, check in with them and offer to cover the next round. If everyone volunteers you should only have to do 1 round during the day.

I am the team manager ( Katrina Horne…I coach the younger kids at long jump on Monday nights). I will be at discus or wandering around). Please message me if any problems if you can’t find me.

If your child wins an event, they can pop up to the bottom control room to collect their medal ( this is for Grade 12-14 only). There are no medals for the younger grades.

If your child is competing in spikes, ( 100m, 400m) they must remove their spikes before leaving the ground.
If they have run 200m, 1500m they will be allowed to walk round in lane 8 to collect their gear.

Good luck to the following Ariki children competing this coming weekend at the Otago Champs.
Ariki is required to have at least 1 parent at discus throughout the day. Could all parents please check in at discus when you arrive and if everyone does one round you should get to watch your kids for most of the competition. No one person should have to be out there all day.
