๐Ÿ’ช Strong Women Lift Heavy Too ๐Ÿ’ช

Many women are surprised by how strong they can become when they train with proper technique and guidance.

At our boutique gym, we encourage members to lift heavier weights safely and progressively, based on their individual ability and goals.

We're not a bodybuilding gym and we're not a powerlifting gym. Our focus is helping everyday people become stronger, healthier, and more confident.

We offer one-on-one personal training only. No group classes, no distractionsโ€”just coaching that is completely focused on you. This allows us to ensure proper technique, safe progression, and a supportive training environment.

Strength training isn't about being the strongest person in the gym.

It's about becoming stronger than you were yesterday. ๐Ÿ’ช

A beautiful red sky over Queens Gardens this morning. ๐ŸŒ…

The first light of the day painted the clouds in brilliant shades of red and orange, creating a stunning view from the gym office. A calm, crisp Dunedin morning and a reminder of how spectacular the simple moments can be.

Mike is over 80 years old and still showing up to work on his health and mobility ๐Ÿ’ช

What many people donโ€™t realise is that exercises like these are not only physical training โ€” they are also brain training. During this hip mobility exercise, Mike is working on balance, coordination, control, and remembering movement patterns all at the same time.

We encourage our members to slow down and take their time with each movement. The goal is not to rush through exercises, but to move properly, get into the correct joint angles, and safely load the muscles, ligaments, and tendons to help protect the joints.

Training becomes even more important as we age. Staying active helps maintain mobility, strength, balance, independence, and confidence in everyday life. It is also incredibly important for brain health and cognitive function.

Great work Mike ๐Ÿ‘

Training for longevity doesnโ€™t mean only lifting light weights.

Heavy resistance training done with good technique is one of the best things you can do for strength, muscle, joint support, bone health, and overall quality of life.

Train hard enough to progress. Smart enough to recover. Consistent enough to keep going. ๐Ÿ‘Š

๐Ÿ’ช Strong Bones. Strong Muscles. Strong Joints. Strong Life.

This is one of our awesome members putting in the work ๐Ÿ‘Š

Strength training and plyometric training arenโ€™t just about looking fit โ€” they are essential for building and maintaining healthy bones, muscles, and joints at every age.

As we get older, we naturally lose bone density, muscle mass, and joint stability. Without the right training, this can lead to weakness, pain, and higher injury risk.

The solution?

โœ… Resistance training to build muscle
โœ… Weight-bearing exercises to strengthen bones
โœ… Controlled plyometric movements to improve joint strength and tendon resilience

This type of training helps:
โ€ข Young adults build a strong foundation
โ€ข Adults maintain strength and mobility
โ€ข Older adults reduce bone loss and stay independent
โ€ข Both men and women stay active and capable

At 4U Fitness, we focus on smart, progressive programming tailored to your level.

Our gym is:
โ˜€๏ธ Bright and sunny
๐Ÿค Welcoming and supportive
๐Ÿ”‡ Quiet โ€” no big crowds
๐Ÿ“ Handy location at Queens Gardens, ground floor of Solomons House

If you want to train in a calm environment that supports your long-term health, weโ€™d love to help.
