Today was day 3 working with Earl and I focused on picking up his feet.

This video is about 30 minutes into this mornings session and I was super happy with Earls progress in a relatively short time.
It's hard to believe that this is the same session as the first video I posted, just another example of " its not how MUCH we do but HOW we do it"

This video is about 15 minutes into this mornings session with Earl.

Earl is still a bit nervous about me touching him so I used my horsemanship stick to begin getting him used to being touched.
I want Earl leading as soft as possible so he will give to pressure when I eventually tie him up so I also use my stick as an aid to move him when he gets sticky.

Foal handling
Teaching Earl to lead session two part one.

Yesterday was Earls first full day with us and I focused on building trust with him and started with the very basics of leading.

Today we continued working on leading and giving to pressure.
Teaching a youngster to lead is such an important step to get right because its the foundation for teaching them to tie up safely.

Im hoping to show as much of the process as possible so this is just one of the videos from this mornings session that I will be sharing.

Starting shadow.

Well shadow arrived here at Refresh about 5 weeks ago to undergo our light Starting program and yesterday we said goodbye and good luck as he returned home.
It's always bitter sweet when a client horse goes home, its such a journey Starting a horse under saddle and we get very invested in the process.

Shadow was a great student and we are super thankful to his owners for trusting him to us!
