🐱✨ Did You Know?
Many people believe Cornish Rex cats are hypoallergenic because they have a short, curly coat and shed very little. While some allergy sufferers may find them easier to live with, there is actually no such thing as a truly hypoallergenic cat.
Cat allergies are caused by proteins found in a cat's saliva, skin, and dander—not their fur. Since Cornish Rex cats still groom themselves like any other cat, they still produce these allergens.
That said, their low-shedding coat may mean fewer allergens spread around the home, which is why some people react less strongly to them.
Every person is different, so it's always best to spend time with a breed before bringing one home! 💛
