We’re back with another 8 week challenge team! 👏Focused on building strength, power, fitness, and overall performance. Perfect time to lock in as winter rolls in! No better chance to reset, build momentum, and commit to your training.

If you’ve been wanting to get stronger, fitter, and sharpen up your olympic lifting and crossfit movements, this is your sign! We’ve got some pretty cool stuff lined up, with some awesome prizes up for grabs🎁

Step outside your comfort zone, learn new skills, and challenge yourself!

Over the 8 weeks we’ll be dialling in:
- Strength across key lifts
- Power and explosiveness
- Olympic lifting technique and efficiency
- Gymnastics skills and control
- Conditioning that supports performance
- Proper structure and progression
- Weekly leaderboard to track progress
- Good people, good energy, and some friendly competition

We will be kicking off with some strength and fitness testing, with other mini challenges and challenge days popping up throughout the 8 weeks 🤩Each week we’ll also be running a workout that feeds into a leaderboard, so you can track your progress, see where you stack up, and have a bit of fun with it along the way.

We’re incredibly excited to announce our Beginner Fundamentals Course! A premium foundation program designed to set you up for success, not just at The Grind, but for your entire fitness journey.

Walking into a gym for the first time can feel overwhelming. Not knowing where to start or whether you’re doing things right can stop people before they even begin. We’re removing the guesswork and giving you the chance to finally put your 2026 goals into action.

This is where understanding replaces uncertainty.
This is where your journey starts.

Across six structured, coach-led sessions, you’ll learn the movements we use daily at The Grind, from compound lifts and functional training to the class movements that form the backbone of our programming. Every movement is broken down, coached, and scaled, so you can train with purpose, lift with confidence, and go home to your whānau feeling strong, safe, and proud.

You’ll receive two dedicated Olympic lifting sessions with our Olympic coach Matt, learning not just how to lift, but why — giving you skills that fast-track progress and unlock performance.

1️⃣ Buy-In Time
How fast can you and your buddy knock it out? Your first score is all about speed and teamwork

2️⃣ Heavy 1RM Complex
In the remaining time, build to your heaviest combined weight complex:
- 1 power clean
- 1 hang clean
- 1 STOH (any style: push press, push jerk, split jerk)

Share the buy-in smartly so you’re shoulders aren’t too smoked before the heavy lifting 😜

*scaled athletes may perform a hang power clean + front squat for the hang clean portion
