What a stunning spring afternoon!! 16 punters out this arvo, chasing the last spot in the shootout and trying to put in a good score towards the Kitto trophy 🏆. The winner on the day was D Mac, with a nett 69, from 3 players, Jackson, Rex and Robin with nett 70.
After some quick calculator work, the winner of the impressive Kitto trophy 🏆 was that guy....Brian Walker 👍🍺. With some great scores in the early rounds setting his maiden trophy victory!!! Congratulations to the guy whose golf has improved immensely this year.

Tomorrow sees the 7th and final round of Kitto trophy. Looks like only 2 or 3 guys in the hunt to win this grand looking...

Tomorrow sees the 7th and final round of Kitto trophy. Looks like only 2 or 3 guys in the hunt to win this grand looking trophy 🏆! It is also the last chance to qualify for the shootout, if you happen to win the day. Again this year a few of the " regulars " are going to miss the " big dance".🏌️‍♂️🤭🤭. With all the action and excitement over the last 8 to 10 days, everything is positively pumping around the club! Love to see it, wouldn't wish for anything else!!❤️😎. Catch all you ratbags and weapons out there tomorrow, a cold beer 🍺 afterwards and maybe, just maybe.... no fire 🔥 required!!🤷‍♂️🤣.

Well, very busy around this golf club recently!!🏌️‍♂️🍺. Today we hosted our 2nd round of North Canterbury Vets. 55 specimens of various ability and disabilities turned up.
A fabulously warm round of golf ⛳️ 😎. After all that hosing down rain on Saturday night, our water features and hazards were in play!! The creek running strongly and a few casual water spots! Didn't hear any complaints so..... no news is good news. The conditions helped there to be a lot of " honest" golf being played out there. With today's winner 🏆 getting 39 stablefords, then others at 37, 36, 35 and 34 paid out! Always great to have strong numbers enjoying our course. A great day. Thanks to everyone who helped out for the day!🏌️‍♂️👍

Yesterday saw the semi finals played, and the finalists can be confirmed. With finals day being held on September 5th.
In the masters, Grant will play Colin, after Colin's match had to go up the 19th!!🤭🫣🍺.
Juniors will see the top two qualifiers playing off,defending champion Jack 🏆, versus Dave C.
Intermediates saw two reasonably convincing wins. Leaving Jarrad Mac to play GlenD!
And the Seniors see our two lowest handicapped golfers facing off. Langdon versus Ken Bing! With Ken being taking to the 18th hole by JT. JT played a great round, but couldn't quite get the victory!
Congratulations to all these men!!
We also had a sweepstake last night on the All Blacks match. And after a quick look at the picks, I think greenkeeper Pete probably had the closest score??? It will go to the mathematicians room next Saturday for conformation!!🤣🤣🏉

So an awesome follow up to the celebrations 🍾 😀 last night!! Those that know, follow and have seen previous posts on this page..... we celebrate with the wetting of the cup 🏆🏆🤷‍♂️🤣.
The lovely Eleanor understood her duty to continue our long held ritual, showing some of that charm that caught her a great husband!!
She had a sparkle ✨️ in her eye the whole time!! Now this is a truly committed club lady!

Well.... what a night for our fantastic little country club!! After decades of giving her time to our golf club, 31 years as secretary, and 20 odd years as caterer, providing outstanding food for all our tournaments and the fabric of our committee , Eleanor was nominated and won Canterbury's Golfs administrator of the year. A large turnout of support from our current committee and her 3 son's on hand to celebrate this outstanding and well deserved award. There are still very committed people, giving their time and energy to things that motivate them.
Absolutely well done and congratulations to this lovely lady.
Be sure to show her a bit of love, a wine or two,🥂🥂. May even be a round of drinks to celebrate tomorrow at club day

A sunny 🌞 Friday, looking like a nice early spring day for tomorrow's games of golf.
The club championship matches are always serious stuff, and tomorrow will be no different. 🏌️‍♂️🍺👍. Semi finals for all men's grades !! In the master's, Colin is playing Stephen ( yogi) and Rex playing Grant. The wiley vs the pretend masters.🤭🤭👌
Juniors see defending champion Jack playing an easy street winner Aaron S. And David ( doobie) versus Haami. Be some good golf in there!!💪🏌️‍♂️🍺.
Intermediates will see Robin playing Glen D, a serious serious match with a couple of side bets to boot!!🍺🍺. Glen D my struggle with the weight of hosting new age!! Celebrating a birthday 🎂 today. Drink up chap!🍺. The other match is Jarrad versus Glen W. More close golf expected.
Seniors..... the big bangers!!💪🏌️‍♂️.
Langdon versus Greenkeeper Pete and Ken B verses JT.
All the seniors have been spotted out on the course, fine tuning the skillset, over the past 2 weeks. Going to be some great matches, and maybe, just maybe, for the first time this year a match or two may go to extra holes!! Good luck to all, and there will still be a match of the day for everyone else.

This clown...El Capitaain smoked up the course with a nett 63! Helping man handle Mr President and Glen D out of the pairs knockouts, winning 3 and 2 with Glen W , to make it to the finals. Also scoring well today, Jack the Archer 🏹 with a nett 65, Aaron B, nett 66, and the ever steady Greenkeeper Pete with a nett 68.
Our most contested prize each week.... the pinky, was won convincingly by Tammy. And longest putt secured by Eleanor.
The weather held off, and now having a great arvo in the " hut" 🛖.

Tomorrow will see us playing our last club tournament, the Scott trophy 🏆. Some more good points to win towards player ...

Tomorrow will see us playing our last club tournament, the Scott trophy 🏆. Some more good points to win towards player of the year trophy. An important pairs knockout semi final, hopefully, will proceed as well. Mr President and Mr D facing off against El Capitaain and Mr W. Shaping up to be a very even match!
The weather may deteriorate over the afternoon, but I'm sure they are bred pretty tough and a bit stupid around here!!🤔🤭🏌️‍♂️🍺
