Expressions of Interest are now open for individual entries to the 2026 National Rifle Championships at Belmont.

Held immediately prior to the Australia Match and the ICFRA Pairs Championships, this is the most significant fullbore meeting Australia has hosted in many years. Places are limited, so entry is being managed through an Expression of Interest process. Priority entry for team members participating in the October matches has closed, and remaining places are now open to all NRAA members.

EOIs open Monday 3 August and close 08:00 AEST Monday 31 August. Entries in Target Rifle, F-Open and F/TR will be allocated based on availability of positions and on national ranking and performance, so getting your EOI in is the first step.

May 23rd Closing day 25/26 season.

10 shooters gathered for the final day of then Malvern Rifle Club's 2025/26 season, including visitors from the West Coast, Ashburton & Oamaru.

Another great Autumn afternoon for shooting, with little cloud & little wind - though temperatures were cooler.

We shot "longs" 10 counting shots at 800 then 900 yards.
Scores weren't kept though some good scores were seen.

Alan with John & Terri's assistance used a portable table to shoot benchrest. The 800 & 900 yard mounds are best suited for the less able shooter.

Our range is closed until early October, though there will be a working bee held at the end of September.

For those wishing to shoot during the winter the Ashburton District Rifle Club will be shooting on Sundays at their range.

Don’t pay twice.

If you are applying for a fi****ms licence or endorsement online, don't prepay the application fee at a Post Shop.

Our online licence and endorsement applications will ask you to pay the fee at the end of the process. Just have your credit or debit card handy when you get to the ‘pay now’ screen.

If you pay at a Post Shop and then apply online, you will still be asked to pay the fee at the end of the online application.

You should only pay at the Post shop if you are applying via a printed and posted application form.

So, don’t pay twice – if applying online don't prepay the application fee at a NZ Post Shop.

Read more about the different ways you can apply for your fi****ms licence on our website: https://www.fi****mssafetyauthority.govt.nz/manage-and-apply/fi****ms-licence/apply-or-reapply
