We hope you had a great long weekend in Christchurch for Waitangi Orienteering Weekend. Big thanks to all of our hardworking planners, controllers, and volunteers, we really couldn't do it without you.

Epic day out there today, congratulations to all the finishers and winners! Big thanks to Joseph Lynch and Tane Cambridge who planned and controlled the morning sprint at Lincoln Schools, and Heidi Stolberger and Scott Smith for organising the afternoon events at Lincoln University.

Results are up on Winsplits now, we'll have some photos up in the next few days as well. There is also Livelox available from the morning sprint so you can look at routes, link in the comments.

Rest up and we'll see you tomorrow for the Classic/Chasing Start at Woodend!

Please re-read Bulletin #2 so you know where you need to be and when, there's been a few tweaks to the start list so please double-check the final list below to confirm your start times.

It's going to be very hot all weekend! Please bring along lots of water to each event as we'll have limited water at the event centre and on course.

Heidi Stolberger and Amelia Horne are two women likely to feature at the pointy end of the competition. On the comeback from injury and illness can they show some good form and put the other ladies on notice for the 2023 season?

They are also both recent converts to the Southerly Storm, expect to see their teams at the front of the field during Monday's Sprint Relay!

Perhaps Lizzie closest challenger in the Women's Elite field will be none other than Amber Morrison?

Returning from a few years away she recorded excellent results at last year's National Championships with a Silver in the Sprint. Add this to a convincing win at the Peak Trail Blazer last year and solid results as part of the Whippets Running Project in Auckland she could be a serious contender come Waitangi Weekend. Any mistake from Lizzie could prove costly with Amber hot on her heels!
