Good luck to Sophia and Chloe who are travelling up to Tauranga to compete in the 2026 Zespri AIMS Games over the coming weekend. AIMS is a very busy 4 day meet where intermediate aged athletes from around the country come together and throw down some pretty fast times.

You got this girls!

Over the weekend, a 32 strong team of athletes participated at the South Island Short Course Championships. A medal haul of 73 medals, over 140 finals swims and a solid number of personal best times saw Wharenui come out as the top club for 2026.

The competition was a good learning opportunity for athletes, some being new to travelling as a team, and others having to deal with new other set backs that come with competing. We look forward to the main event in 4 weeks.

Huge thanks to all of our team managers and volunteers that made this trip possible.

JPP Rep #5 - Rylind Wheeler

Last but certainly not least, Rylind has made the trip over to Canada to represent himself, club and country at the 2026 Junior PanPac Champs.

Rylind is a newer addition to our ranks but has blended into the squad well, and everyone enjoys his banter and performance mindset.

Rylind is in charge of the breaststroke events, as well as the breaststroke legs in 2 medley relays. A strong build-up to the meet indicates he is ready to go - can't wait to see what he can throw down.

Best of luck Rylind, we know you will do us all proud ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

JPP Athlete #4 - Tandia Fisher

After being selected for multiple Tri-Series teams and numerous national titles, Tandia has been selected to represent NZ at one of the highest youth levels.

Tandia is known for her exceptional closing speed and give-it-a-go attitude. She is the youngest of our NZ JPP reps but will most definitely leave everything she has in the pool.

We can't wait to see what Tandia can produce when racing starts tomorrow - GOOD LUCK T!
