The idea of Sadhana Surfboards was born in 1997 on a lifeguard chair, as a reaction to the mass-marketed, mediocre, one-size-fits-all approach to surfing at the time. Drawing on the daily influence that the ocean holds and utilising various garages, shaping rooms and sheds around the world, a small cottage label was formed. While those backyard days are now part of our history, it is this hand-made craft philosophy that drives us still. Since our move to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2008, Sadhana has grown to provide one of the most comprehensive ranges of hand shaped boards to suit all styles of surfing, on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island. We also offer a quality board repair service, demo and hire boards, guide books and travel supplies. Sadhana is your gateway to the classic South Island road trip. Building upon this craft ideal, we have extended our hand craft range into board blankets, bags and clothing. Our retail shop, located in the historic Tannery centre, has a range of accessories, gifts all influenced by the ocean. We also have an eclectic range of music on vinyl and CDs, rare re-issues, new releases and second hand.

GOOD NEWS — SADHANA IS BACK! 🤙

We’ve dusted ourselves off (literally) and are reopening as a leaner, stripped-back, shaping-first Sadhana Surf, back at our original factory entrance at 35 Tanner St, Woolston.

A massive thank you to everyone for all the kind words, stories and support when we closed the storefront a few months back. The response from the surf community was pretty incredible.

We’re getting back to what we love... Custom Surfboards, Surfboard Supplies, Repairs, Learn to Shape, and helping you get out and ride some waves.

Same Sadhana. Back to the grassroots. Back to shaping.
