A huge thanks for all the support last Friday night NZ artbroker for the opening of 'A Sense of Place' with fellow artists Gill Hay and Abby Taylor!
It was a fantastic turn out and it was lovely to see you all there.
As a group we decided to reflect on the places that surround us. My works have grown out of a ficticious narrative of the NZ Harakeke flax moth, called the Window Maker.
The moth caterpillars nibble away at the young leaves with tiny window holes remaining once they unfurl.
So I imagine a busy working studio where the Window Maker squibbles away stitching, pinning, cutting and making her windows while we sleep.
One of my favourite places is the river and I love the spikes of native Harakeke all along the banks.
A secret dark green space.
The show is on for another 3 weeks
But is also available online if you are out of town :-)
