Kloe Freeman, competing in her first international tournament, delivered another impressive performance yesterday early morning.
Still relatively new to the sport, Kloe left it all in the ring — scoring an 8-count against Italy in the 3rd round and winning the final round.
She narrowly lost on points in what was a fantastic and exciting bout from the opening bell.
To top it off, her coach received a phone call from the NZ Head Youth Coach, who couldn’t believe how talented Kloe is and asked how someone with only seven fights could perform at that level and perform so well.
A massive effort and an exciting future ahead!

Kloe Freeman flies out to Thailand tomorrow to represent New Zealand at the Futures Cup in Bangkok.
With over 83 countries competing, this is an incredible opportunity and experience on the world stage. We’re so proud of you, Kloe! LESSSSHGO!

Kloe has just been selected for the New Zealand Youth Boxing Team 🥊
At only 16 years old, this Nayland College student is our region’s current Junior NZ Boxing Champion and is now heading to Bangkok in just 3 weeks to compete in the Futures Cup — an international tournament and Youth Olympics qualifier.
This is an incredible achievement, especially in a minority sport where athletes are largely self-funded.
Kloe is an extremely dedicated and hardworking young athlete, and without doubt a future name to watch in NZ boxing.
We’re currently seeking sponsors or supporters to help with travel and competition costs. Any contribution, big or small, would mean a lot.

So proud of our champ 👊
First NZ Youth Team trials and Kloe stepped straight into the fire — taking on Brooke Miller, a seasoned boxer with 40 fights, in just her 6th bout in the ring.
The result didn’t go our way, but the performance spoke volumes.
Heart, skill, and zero fear on display.
Huge respect and thank you to Brooke for the opportunity to share the ring 👏🥊
