2026 Sport Canterbury Awards

At the end of May, Coastal Spirit FC was nominated for the Community Team Award at the 2026 Sport Canterbury Awards. Darren (Chairman), Grant (Board Member), and Ellis (Operations Manager) were in attendance. While we didn’t come away with the award on the night, it was fantastic to be recognised for the achievements our team delivered in 2026.

We’d also like to acknowledge , who were nominated for an award as well, in recognition of the incredible work they continue to do in our community.

There is some truly outstanding mahi happening here on the eastside of Christchurch!

Premier Men’s & Women’s

Both our Men’s and Women’s teams are both here in Christchurch this weekend, as our Men's team take on Selwyn United FC on Saturday Morning, this game has been bought forward so all are able to watch the All Whites Final World Cup group game versus Belgium.

Our Women's Team are at home versus Roslyn on Sunday where all three points are a must!

A massive effort will be needed from both squads to get the three points!

Our Men's Reserve game versus parklands United was abandoned due to adverse weather conditions. we are currently working with Mainland Football to get this rescheduled.

The Otakaro FC Skills Centre continues on Mondays through Term 3.

Develop your football skills through the World Cup, learn with your mates in a safe place on the astroturf at QE2 & get in as many touches of the ball in preparation for your end of season tournaments.

All aspiring Junior players welcome to improve their skills and develop their game! Many of the Talent Development Programme players started their introduction to Otakaro in this environment and are now playing within the best youth competition in the area.

Let's keep growing and strengthening football on the east side of Christchurch!
