OHOKA CRICKET SMASHPLAY IS MOVING TO FRIDAY NIGHTS!

Looking for a fun way to get your little ones into cricket while keeping your Saturdays free? We've got you covered! 🙌

Ohoka Cricket Smashplay sessions are now running on Friday nights, making it easier for the whole family to enjoy their weekends — whether that's having a sleep-in, enjoying a family activity, or heading along to watch the big brothers and sisters play cricket on Saturday mornings! 💛

Smashplay is all about learning through fun, game-based activities, helping tamariki develop their cricket skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy being active. Every session is packed with opportunities to get involved, have a go and have fun!

WHEN: Friday nights, 5–6pm
WHERE: Mandeville Sports Grounds
AGES: 4+ (turning 5 during this season)
COST: $60 for 5 sessions

All registered players receive a Plastic cricket set at the end of the 5 sessions!

And there's more! After Christmas, your child can join Saturday morning cricket at no extra cost!

Whether your child is brand new to cricket or just keen to give it a go, Smashplay is a great place to start. 🏏

Junior Cricket Registrations are flowing in and we are well on the way to locking down teams. We will always look to accomodate more players.

Smashplay is back (for new cricketers aged 4 or older) and we are just in the process of confirming when these will take place.

Welcome to the 2026-27 cricket season!!!

We are excited to announce that applications are open for the new Ohoka Cricket Club Scholarship for school leavers for 2027.

We are committed to helping youth players as they transition into adult cricket and the scholarship provides support towards study costs, cricket equipment thanks to Gray Nicholls, club membership and uniform and access to private 1-1 coaching. The scholarship runs until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Any players who wish to apply can do so by contacting us at [email protected] telling us about yourself, your cricket background and your study plans.

If you are not leaving school for another 12 months, but would be interested in the future, please also get in touch with [email protected]

The tertiary grant is not just for university studies but is to help the successful candidate move forward with their career choice.

2026-27 Registrations Open

We are pleased to advise that registrations are now open for the 2026-27 season for junior and adult players.

Junior Cricket at Ohoka is all about fun, learning new skills, being part of a great club atmosphere, making friends, and enjoying the camaraderie of team sport. We welcome players of all ages and genders – whether your child is a beginner or already playing, we have a grade to suit from Smash Play for beginners to Section One for Year 7/8 players.

We also have a great variety of options for adult players from Premiers to social. Our Senior team are the defending Canterbury Country one-day champions and our Division 5 team also won titles last season. We will also have two Masters teams and Division 7

Our thoughts are with Will and the Hamilton family .

While on a short break from his UK cricket in Barcelona, Will suffered a serious diving accident, fracturing two vertebrae in his neck. He has since undergone emergency surgery and is now beginning what will be a long road to recovery.

As the accident happened overseas without travel insurance, Will and his family are facing significant medical costs. His club in England, Barby Cricket Club, has set up a fundraiser to help ease that burden.

If you’re in a position to help, any donation—big or small—would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate, simply sharing the fundraiser would mean a lot.
