So incredibly proud of Emily and Levi for making it to rhe 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae World Championships in Chuncheon, Korea!
They've been training hard and are ready to represent New Zealand.
We're so proud of you both!!!

Today is day 1 and they're on for their individual events tomorrow (individual male and freestyle female o17), and pairs on Sunday!

🥋 Wanna get into Freestyle Poomsae? 🥋

We will be hosting a Freestyle Poomsae seminar to introduce you to Freestyle Poomsae, tips for finding music and choreography, and how to put your performance together!

We will also be going through some basic skills that you can incorporate in your freestyle and how to work towards developing other skills.

Assisting Master Anthony will be Emily Cropp who has been competing in Freestyle Poomsae since 2025.
Emily has also recently returned from Australia representing New Zealand in Freestyle at the Presidents Cup - Oceania, Australian Open, and Oceania Championships hosted in the Gold Coast.
Master Anthony and Emily have also recently competed in Freestyle at the Kukkiwon Cup that was hosted in Christchurch in May and are keen to share their experience with you.

Plant the seed with us and lets grow Freestyle Poomsae in New Zealand together!

Yesterday, Emily and Levi stepped onto the mats and ended up on the podium winning Bronze for U30 mixed pairs!

We are incredibly proud of how you both represented the club and the NZL flag!

They aren't done yet! The medals are packed away because TODAY they are straight back into action for the Oceania Championships!

🏆 29 MEDALS AT THE 2026 KUKKIWON CUP! 🏆
​Our team absolutely smashed it over the weekend, and we couldn’t be prouder! All the hard work, sweat, and team support in class truly paid off, placing us 6th overall out of 35 clubs for Kyorugi! 🥋✨
​The results speak for themselves.

🥇 16 GOLD (9 Poomsae, 7 Kyorugi)
🥈 12 SILVER (7 Poomsae, 5 Kyorugi)
🥉 1 BRONZE (1 Poomsae)

We're working with I Love TKD again to bring you Taekwondo New Zealand National Team Coaches, Master Garry Carpenter and Master Anthony Chan, for a specialised introduction to competition Poomsae seminar designed to bridge the gap between "good" and "podium-ready."
