We are open today from 6pm to 9pm for social chess.

Come and have a game or three against new opponents using tournament-quality equipment. Beginners welcome - our volunteers will show you how to play. Hot drinks available.

No need to sign up and no cost for your first night - $2 for non-members after that, or social memberships are $20 for 3 months or $40 for the rest of the calendar year. Children welcome, parents/caregivers required to stay and supervise under 13s.

We are open tonight for our fourth lightning tournament of the year as part of the club's lightning championship for the WJ Watson Trophy. Doors will open at 7pm, entries close at 7:15pm and first game at 7:30pm. Time control is 5 minutes per game (no increment). To enter, please be at the clubrooms or message this page by 7:15pm.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be the social night as usual.

This tournament is for full, life, junior and trial members. To join the club, please be at the clubrooms by 7pm. More information on membership categories and costs is available on the club's website - https://www.chess.org.nz/membership.

We are open tonight for a Grim Reaper. This is a fun lightning event which is not part of our club lightning championship and is run using a different format to our usual lightnings. Time control is 3 minutes + 2 seconds/move. Doors will open at 7pm, check-in by 7:15pm and first game at 7:30pm. Players should be at the clubrooms by 7:15pm, or send us a Facebook message here to be included in the draw.

This tournament is open to non-members but if you're not a member but interested in joining, please be at the club by 7:00pm.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be the social night as usual.

We are open tonight for round 6 of the Eric Browne Shield. Doors will open by 7pm, check-in by 7:15pm aiming to start at 7:30pm. Players should be at the clubrooms by 7:15pm, or send us a Facebook message here to be included in the draw (no half-point byes in rounds 5 or 6).

This is a 6-round NZCF-rated event, 1 game per night. Time control is 1 hr 15 minutes for the game plus 30 seconds per move from move 1.

Note that this tournament is for financial (i.e. paid a subscription this year or last year) full, trial, junior and life members only - if you're not a member but interested in joining, please be at the club by 7pm. Players must also be NZCF members - the club can arrange this as part of club membership.
