We are open today from 6pm to 9pm for social chess.

Come and have a game or three against new opponents using tournament-quality equipment. Beginners welcome - our volunteers will show you how to play. Hot drinks available.

No need to sign up and no cost for your first night - $2 for non-members after that, or social memberships are $20 for 3 months or $60 for the rest of the calendar year. Children welcome, parents/caregivers required to stay and supervise under 13s.

We are open tonight for round 8 of the Club Championships B Grade, and roind 7 of the A Grade. Doors will open by 7pm, check-in by 7:15pm aiming to start at 7:30pm. Players should be at the clubrooms by 7:15pm, or send us a Facebook message here to be included in the B Grade draw. A Grade games will start at 7:30pm.

The B Grade is an 8 round NZCF-rated event, 1 game per night. Time control is 1 hr 15 minutes for the game plus 30 seconds per move from move 1.

Note that this tournament is for financial (i.e. paid a subscription this year or last year) full, trial, junior and life members only - if you're not a member but interested in joining, please be at the club by 7pm. Players must also be NZCF members - the club can arrange this as part of club membership.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be social chess as usual.
