Heathcote Valley Riding School has been operating for over 40 years in Heathcote Valley (Christchurch) on what was originally an old dairy farm site. The Riding School has various sized horses and ponies, with various levels of skills therefore suitable for anyone, whether just wanting to start with a farm ride and begin to learn the skills of riding, to then be able to join in regular group lessons; through to more experienced, and also private lessons, or to simply hack out on a farm ride for a leisurely stroll around the lake at Ferrymead and the surrounds in the Valley. The Riding School also provide for groups for birthday parties (maximum 12) for rides and/or games. They provide the ponies and helpers, you provide any catering, and they simply request you please take your rubbish with you. They also run a daily School Holiday Day Program (byo lunch/snacks etc), suitable for over 7 years old, which includes learning how to groom and care for a pony/horse, riding and lots of fun. If required, the Riding School is close to public transport, with a coffee shop (Upshot) particularly close by for refreshments. Farm Rides: 1/2 hr $20 1 hr $25
Adult Treks: 1 hr $50
Group Lessons: 1 hr $35
Private Lessons: 1/2 hr $45 1 hr $70
Two person Private Lesson: 1 hr $60
Birthday Party: 1/2 hr $20 1 hr $30
School Holiday Programme (10am-3pm):1/2 day $50 Full day $80

Hi everyone we will confirm at lunchtime but with this wind, also the gusts are just to dangerous to ride in. As quiet as the ponies are it just wouldn’t be fair. Will confirm in a hour if we will open or not.
