So KOR 5 ended early for me today, after coming off at Cockram Nissan in the Qualifying session. I just lowsided, but the bike dug into the grass, and effectively high sided itself, landing on the front left side of the upper fairing. Pretty much no damage to me, but rather a lot to the bike. Fairings are pretty cooked, as is the front sub-frame. Should be able to get it fixed for Endurance Race on the 28th of April.

Good to see Angus Boyd (Boyd Racing) getting out on a Pro Twin, as well as Alex McElwain

KOR 4 done and dusted. Missed qualifying, but then only 5 bikes actually went out to be the first ones to test the waters. Wait, no. Track. Still wound up 6th on the grid, so wasn't really at a disadvantage.

Went out in the Clubman's qualifying session to get some laps in before the ProTwin/SupaLite/125 race, and had a couple of squirrely moments but nothing major enough to be concerned about

Took three ProTwin wins from 3 races, getting second overall behind Chris Huddlestone (Huddlestone Racing) on his R4.5 F3 machine. Just couldn't quite keep up with the power coming out of corners, and as I wouldn't have gotten any points by beating him I thought it was best just to let him go and make sure another ProTwin wasn't going to get over the line without me getting over it first.

In the second race I slightly fluffed the start, and pulled a couple of wheelies on my way off, but still got into the corner just behind Chris, so we're all good

As I still had a bit of fuel left, decided to go out in clubmans and have a bit of a play, was great fun chasing a GSXR1100 ( #227, Brendon Marshall),and a motard( #66, Matt Rimmington) came and had a bit of a play as well, which was a good bit of fun

Looking at the points, I should be 61 points ahead in King of Ruapuna, and 56 points ahead in King of Canterbury. In front of Joshua Double (Doughball Racing #69) and Gary Healey respectively, and with one KOR left I think I'm pretty confident that I've managed to take out all three of KOR, KOL, and KOC in my first year on a ProTwin, which I'm very happy with.

Thanks to Pete Gunn for lending me his bike many moons ago, and getting me onto a 650, it's been thoroughly good fun, and I've loved the class.

Same results for race 2 as race one. P1 ProTwins, P2 overall. Sort of trying to keep up with Chris Huddlestone Racing, but the 450 triple just has power on the ProTwin, and as it's a different class, not worth crashing out over

P1 ProTwins in race one at KOR. Pretty happy with myself. P2 overall. Lunch after side cars, then next race after that

So had an awesome day in Levels at MCI's King of Levels Round 2.

It was the first time on my new (to me) SV650 Pro Twin. And I got some results which I was pretty happy with, 2 seconds and a first

Qualifying felt good but unfortunately, we didn't get any times due to a technical fault, but the bike felt good, and I was told I was flying.

The first race started from the grids from the previous round, which put me in P10, with Pete in P9. Got a good start and was in about 5th at the end of the straight going into turn 4. Finished in second Pro Twins with a 1:14 lap time.

The second race was pretty similar, getting a second second, and down to a time of 1:12.9. Had a small tank slapper going through the bus stop as I went from the first right to the left hander I popped a bit of a wheelie, and as I was counter steering fairly hard that just set things up for a bit of a moment which I'm told turned a few of Kim and Pete's hairs grey. That is if any of Pete's aren't yet.... Was closing on first place for the whole race and probably would've been able to catch him if not for almost crashing.

Third race went much better with a first place in Pro Twins, and no big moments to speak of over the 9 laps, staying at 1:12.9.

So KOR Round 4 was a pretty awesome weekend, big thanks to Pete Gunn for the loan of his 650 Pro Twin, to both myself, and Joshua Double, while he waits for his shoulder to heal after his off in Taupo.

After managing to part ways with my bike on the exit of the infield sweeper during qualifying on the 250, things were a little awkward for the rest of the day on the Ninja, having not completed a single lap, leading to me having to start off the back of the grid... No matter, just knew I had to go fast to catch up with the people up in front. Ended the day with a 2nd, 1st, and a 1st in 250 production. Was pretty fun to get to race with Dani Marie, the cheeky sod getting in front of me a couple of times, with nice tidy passes, this being her first time on a Ninja 250, and she did pretty well

Pete's SV650 was awesome, with Josh riding in Pro Twins, and myself in Clubmans. My best time of the day on the 650 was a 1:44.764, which I reckon is pretty good for the second time out on the bike, ever. Conditions for the day were... interesting, with rain coming and going, but the track staying mostly damp enough to warrant keeping the wets on the bike, only getting one race in the semi-dry, which is where I got my fastest lap in. The part I was happiest with was when I jumped into Pro Twins, for the final round, after Josh had crashed his 250 at hairpin just behind me in the previous round and hurt his shoulder. In that race, I managed to go around the outside of Ryan Bradshaw on the final turn and get the drive out of the corner, beating him across the line by 0.044 seconds.

The 650 felt waaaay different to the 250, of course having way more power, and with much higher footpegs, and lower bars. The one difference that I wasn't expecting was where the tank was, it being a fair bit higher. It was pretty good though because it was easier to get into a good race position than on the 250. The other major difference was the grip in the tyres, wets being absolutely brilliantly sticky. I will admit that the 250 surprised me with the lack of grip, getting on it straight after the 650, literally running down pit lane to get out on time, and having to get used to it again in the warm up lap.

Thanks to Underground Brown, Budget Motorcycle Spares, Pete Gunn, Joshua Double, Dennis Charlett, Wendy Ashmore-Guy, Kim Langsford, and Richard Wiltshire for all your support

So NZSBK is all done and dusted for this year. First time doing the whole series, this year in 250 Production, and managed to get 6th overall, which is pretty good in my opinion.

Round Three was awesome, learning a new, very technical track, with lots od ups and downs, both literally in the track, and a small issue where I managed to split a radiator hose in the last race. The highlight of that weekend for me would've been getting past Ben Wilson of Team Aspire Racing, on the last corner of the last lap, after a hotly contested, race-long battle.

At Round Four, my first outing on the track threw me massively, as I went out without anyone to follow and pick up lines from, so that was somewhat unnerving... Next session went out with people to follow and picked up some lines. Before I could go out on the track, however, we had to fix that pesky radiator hose, with help from Dean Watson and Toby Summers, we used a piece of hose from a Ford Laser to replace the split one. Radiator problems continued for me so we wound up removing the thermostatic valve out of the cooling system and swapping out the radiator cap, just to check that everything that could cause issues was eliminated. With everything that could be causing issues removed, I went out for the final round of the series, for the TT race. After chasing Jimmy Squire for the whole race, just at the apex of Barrel 51 (turn 5), I felt the footpeg scrape the ground and lift the rear tyre off the ground, which lead to me sliding on knee, elbow and lightly on my fairing to the edge of the track, ending my TT race, but that's what racing, and life is all about after all; making mistakes, learning from them, and improving.

Thanks to all the people who allowed me to compete at this year's nationals:
