Top of the South Seido Karate Tournament
What a fantastic day for our Christchurch Shibu team at the Top of the South Seido Karate Tournament. It was wonderful to see our karateka step onto the floor with courage, determination, and true Seido spirit.

A special mention must also go to Emma and Brody, who both showed tremendous determination and growth throughout the tournament. Brody competed in the 14-year-old division despite being only 12 years old, demonstrating great courage and resilience.
While we are proud of the results achieved by our team, what stood out even more was the outstanding attitude displayed by every competitor. Our karateka showed great respect, excellent sportsmanship, perseverance in the face of nerves and challenges, and a genuine commitment to supporting one another throughout the day. These qualities reflect the true spirit of Seido Karate and are something we can all be immensely proud of.
A heartfelt thank you to Eiko Hanshi for your continued support, guidance, and encouragement. We loved having you and Cath there. We missed you Shuseki Shihan Harry, but always best to stay home if ill. Osu!
A heartfelt thank you to Sei Shihan Aaron, Paola, Jun Shihan Sharlene, and the entire Nelson Shibu team for the tremendous effort, dedication, and care that goes into organising an outstanding tournament such as this. We are especially grateful to all the Nelson karateka for their warm hospitality and welcoming spirit which helped create such a memorable experience for everyone involved. Your commitment to providing a well-run, enjoyable, and high-quality event is greatly appreciated and reflects the very best of Seido Karate. Gassho.
Finally, thank you to Liz for your amazing support, our wonderful parents and supporters who travelled, encouraged, and cheered on our competitors throughout the day. Your support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to all who represented Christchurch Shibu. We are proud of your achievements, but even more proud of the character, humility, and fighting spirit you displayed throughout the tournament.
