We’re on the cusp now, one more sleep and our Freshwater Fishing Expo will kick into gear at 2pm tomorrow! If you’re wanting to learn as a beginner, or you’ve got questions as a more advanced angler, whether that be for fly, spin, or even freshwater jigging we’ve got the knowledge on site to help you out. Remember, the Traeger Grill will be on, there are prizes to won for attending and shopping, and there may even be a deal or two on some gear to get you ready for the upcoming season.

As part of our Freshwater Fishing Expo, this coming Thursday 17th September, renowned fly fishing addict and fly caster Rene Vaz has offered up some FREE casting lessons to the first 4 people to direct message us and lock in a spot. Times available are 3.30pm, 4pm, 4.30pm, and 5pm. Get in quick and make the use of his expert knowledge, who knows you may even be able to twist his arm on a gear upgrade whilst you’re at it!!

Meet the line up for our ‘Fireside Chat’ at our Freshwater Fishing Expo, Thursday 17th, in store from 2pm.
*Matt Jones, fly fishing extraordinaire, fishing addict, hunter, part-time comedian! Matt will once again be our MC, and involved in the question and answer session with the rest of the team.
*Rene Vaz, expert fly caster, rod designer, importer of many great things fly fishing related, fished vast past of NZ and many places globally as well. Better talker than listener!
*Mike Davis, industry guru, has been in the wholesale and retail side of fishing in NZ most of his life. Fly, soft bait, jig, he’s all over anything freshwater related. Renowned for beautiful fly casting, and his need to fish rather than work! If you’re keen to learn more about trout jigging, or even chasing the elusive tiger trout of the central North Island Mike is your man.
*Lance Gill, Mr Fish the Drift (give him a follow on Instagram!), soft baiter, fly fisherman, 4 wheel driver, jet boater, wanna be influencer, expert at falling in the river! Keen to give any form of fishing a go, and typically succeeds.

These chaps will be on site to chat to and answer any questions you may have during the whole event, but will take centre stage at 6.30pm-ish for our main question and answer session. We will once again have our app/QR code operating so you can fire your question directly through to Matt before or during the ‘Fireside Chat’.

Freshwater Fishing Expo returns on Thursday 17th September, get this in your diary now!
From 2pm until 8.30pm-ish swing by our store, see our displays, talk to company representatives from a massive array of importers, check out the deals for the day only, get in the draw for major prizes and spot prizes, and of course try a nibble or two from the Traeger grills on site!
