🗣️ “The psychology of keepers standing up to seamers, as opposed to spin bowlers which they do routinely, is simple.

“By moving up to the stumps, keepers remove those ploys by increasing the risk of being stumped should the batter leave their crease.

“Instead, they shift the onus onto the batter’s defensive technique which, as we know, makes today’s players nervous – the many hours of practice now dedicated to hitting balls for four and six rather than combatting those which might get them out.
