That’s a wrap for the 2023 NZSBK season.

This season I didn’t have a ride lined up and was preparing to watch from the sidelines, it wasn’t to be with the PassMasters putting a fantastic development Kawasaki Ninja 400 under me.

We made so much progress as a team and friendships. The Kawasaki got better and better as the season went along even with the restrictions on the bike so it was comparable to the Yamaha and KTM. I did struggle in straight line speed but the corners and tight sections it came alive.

Results - 6th overall for the season missing both South Island rounds we still got a good result. We were mainly there to develop, have fun and I tried to get results for the PassMasters team. Things finally came to us at Hamptons putting the bike in 3rd giving me a 3rd overall for the weekend and serious excitement boost for Taupo. Final round we got a 2nd , 3rd , 3rd giving us a 1st overall for the weekend.

As a team we are absolutely pumped! We now have a bike we can develop and return to chase a NZ title.

My biggest thanks goes to the PassMasters team for there support, encouragement and help. From not riding to having an opportunity to be competitive it’s a credit to everyone.

So many people to thank so I’ll do my best - but to everyone, family and friends, thank-you I feel the love.

Hey Team

It’s been along time since my last update.

It’s great to be back and enjoying the Carl cox cup and this time on the Hyosung 250. I come away with a 1st overall but a few struggles along the way.

I got ejected from the bike on the last race due to a mechanical which I’m a bit saw from. I’m carrying a few injuries this season so I’m just taking my time to find a groove.

I’m involved in team Stroud connect which is a new venture and promoting development and hopefully be able to fight in the NZSBK. Things have changed for me with my long time supporter closing the business and unable to support. To stay on the bike and especially in a race situation it takes sponsors and support. So I’m in wait mode and just enjoying giving back for a while, things will open up and hopefully I can chase championships in the future.

Hey team

We finally got to the top step winning the Carl Cox Cup 2022.

I would like to thank Ken Dobson for asking me to ride his Kawasaki ninja 400 MTF bike. It was a last minute call in to do the championship but I’m glad we did. We had fun and i learnt so much off Ken. He’s one cool guy who’s about the sport and seeing it develop. Ken sacrifices so much to do the cup and I feel honoured to put his bike on the top step for 2022.

As you know Nothing comes easy and with a broken foot / cracked rib I had to just ride with the pain. I didn’t take any pain killers as I had to feel my foot. We did a small geometry change and had different height foot pegs to compensate for the lack of movement. It worked and we bought it home.

Just a special thank you to everyone for your support on and off the track. I feel blessed to be apart of the cup and the new friendships formed.

We now look forward to new opportunities and I’m determined to keep the fire going.

Hey Team

So close but not close enough to take 2nd at the southern Grand Prix 2022.

I loved the close racing and I gave it the jandal everywhere but in my drive on the final turn I came together with a lapper pushing me off line and giving Jesse Stroud and Dennis Charlett the gap. It was tough conditions with a wet / dry track so I opted for a wet front and slick rear. I managed still to get into the 1:43 which is fast.

Congrats to all the classes and the other competitors in the 300SS. I wasn’t my usual self this weekend and I apologise for my passionate response to a few track moments.

Special thanks to the people around me. It wasn’t an easy weekend but the friendship and support keeps me going. Thanks to Sam from mega motorcycles who assisted me with setting my bike up plus his experience gave me a real boost for the GP.

Thanks to ctas for capturing my high side. I now have a sore foot and backside. Thanks to the rescue crew for the laughs on the way back to the pits.

Hopefully one day I can get a championship title but for now I sit and reflect!

Hey Team 👊👍

My weekend was summed up as “epic cool” at the Canterbury MC R6 at Ruapuna.

Racing my new look Yamaha R3 against Dennis Charlett on his new look Yamaha it was a buzz. Dennis is the hardest guy to race against and where I put the bike he put the bike. We went bar to bar and doing 1:43 is a great national time. Absolutely loved the racing.

I return on the 3rd April to the Carl Cox Cup to race Ken Dobson ninja 400 and absolutely loving this great event.

Hey team,

Great to get back in race mode on the Yamaha R3. Thank-you to my long time friend for this cool pic.

My fitness is there, my endurance is there and I’m loving the feel on the bike.

This was a CAMS event and we had a great day. Fun racing and I was gridded next to 600s and 1000s on my Yamaha R3. So it wasn’t about winning but I sure gave it to them in the tight sections.

Next week we have Rd 6 of Ruapuna and I’m looking forward to returning to Auckland to carry on the Carl Cox cup.

Hey Team,

Epic and fun is the only way to sum up the weekend.

It’s great to fly in and hop on a bike you just jell with. Thanks to Ken Dobson for putting this great ride together and the Kawasaki ninja 400 was a blast.

I was so happy to win 3 out of the 4 300SS class races. The Double 6 team are fierce to race against but this time I had the feel and timing to bag the results.

The ninja cup races went to plan with putting the bike on pole and backing myself to get 4 from 4 wins. This is a great field and I know one mistake they’ll pounce so just had to put consistent laps together and keep the focus.

This coming weekend I’m riding the Yamaha and a friends triumph 675 for fitness mainly. We have CAMS on Saturday at Ruapuna so hopefully we can keep pushing.
