No fluff, just feel good movement. Move better, feel better, your body (and mind) will thank you. 💛 A little bit about me…
After twisting my ankle at the end of a particularly gruelling workout, I became determined to improve my flexibility and coordination. The reason for my clumsy accident was a mixture of having the balance of a baby giraffe and leg fatigue from heavy weights, and something nee
ded to change. Following thorough research I decided to try something new while allowing my body to heal. This led me to a more holistic approach and ultimately to a love of Pilates. I studied in London with the Future Fit academy and then went on further to specialise in pre & postnatal Pilates and common orthopaedic conditions. It has always been a dream to one day open my own studio, and after moving to New Zealand that opportunity arose and Pilates Lab was born. I am CIMPSA registered in the UK and REPs registered in NZ so you know you are getting world class teaching advice. So what is Pilates? Pilates is a form of exercise similar to yoga, involving a series of movements which concentrates on core strength, posture, balance and flexibility. Designed to lengthen and strengthen the body while correcting any postural imbalances and improving mobility. Pilates was developed by German-born Joseph Pilates, who believed mental and physical health were closely connected, and practising Pilates has been proven to increase overall wellbeing as well as general fitness. Modern Pilates draws inspiration from gymnastics, yoga, martial arts, zen meditation, and ballet, amongst others. It is low impact and perfect for people of all ages, abilities and sizes.
