It’s amazing what a couple of weeks can do for a young person.

Already we’ve had parents telling us:

At Little Hammers, we’re not just teaching kids to throw punches. We’re teaching them to be awesome humans.

🔥 Beach Session DONE 🔥
What a way to spend a Thursday night BEGINNERS CLASS down at Waimari Beach 🌊🏖️

24° ☀️… sunshine blazing… perfect for a sweat session 😅💦🥵

We kicked off with a solid warm-up ➕ at the park in front of the Surf Lifesaving Club.

30 mins of technical pad work 👊🥊— crisp shots, clean technique, everyone locked in and looking for openings. Full coach mode!!

Then came the fun part… 😂 😆

⛰️💥 10 minutes (more like 15 😏) of non-stop dune runs up and down those sand monsters.
Sprints from bottom to top. 6-8 seconds of absolute burn each lap 🔥🔥🔥
Legs screaming, lungs pumping, hearts thumping ❤️‍🔥 and mindset on winning November 29.

10 days notice!!
Five weeks ago he walked into the gym at Sledgehammer Boxing and said he had agreed to a charity boxing fight back in England on December 6th… so he wanted to learn how to box.

On ten days notice he got the opportunity to step into the ring early as a late replacement at Clash for Construction 🏗️ 🚧

Seven days out from the fight — his mother passed away.

Most people would have pulled out.

Most people would have folded.

He didn’t.

He honoured her the best way he knew how.

Saturday night he stepped into the ring after five weeks — calm, composed, and with purpose.
And he stopped his opponent in the 3rd round with a dominant, aggressive, athletic performance.

He did himself proud.
He made his family proud.
He represented with heart.

This is what boxing gives people outside of the sport: belief, resilience, identity… and a chance to stand up under pressure.

To top it all off, Morgan was awarded "Winner of the Best Bout"

Proud weekend for the team up in Blenheim 🥊

We had two men step into the ring, represent our club, and represent themselves with heart.

One win, one loss — but both performances spoke louder than the results.

Both boys stepped into genuine opposition and held their own.
They made themselves proud, they made their coaches proud, and they made the club proud.

These are the moments that build a fighter — the travel, the nerves, the preparation, the ex*****on under pressure.

Great experience. Great growth.
We’ll keep building.

Spencer Hepi Delivers Devastating First-Round KO Despite Breaking Hand

Spencer Hepi lit up the Canterbury Heavyweight scene with a stunning first-round knockout over the durable and Tough Alex Powell — and he did it in brutal fashion, breaking his right hand in the process.

In just his second bout, Hepi showed composure beyond his experience, staying patient against Powell’s early pressure. With only seconds left in the opening round, Hepi unleashed a perfectly-timed right hand that landed flush and sent Powell crashing to the canvas.

The knockout not only secured Hepi’s first win but came at a cost — the powerful shot that ended the fight also fractured his right hand. Despite the injury, the finish was clinical and emphatic, a testament to Hepi’s pedigree and raw punching power.

With his record now at 1-1, and a highlight-reel KO under his belt, Hepi has firmly put his name on the radar of New Zealand’s rising heavyweight amateur prospects.
