We are also very excited to inform Evie Robson and Maggie Parsons are heading to represent NZ at the Grand Australasian Championships in Sydney later this month, accompanied by teacher Holly! 🇳🇿

Last Sunday Scotdance NZ Highland dancers from across the North Island were treated to a high-end workshop, conducted by International Judge and world renowned teacher Kerry Grosser from Western Australia!! 🌟
Kerry delivered a quality workshop for beginner level through to premier focusing on technique and more!
Extremely beneficial ahead of the New Zealand Highland Dancing Championships in 6 weeks time!

Thank you to all dancers and teaches who attended. This doubled as a HDAOHB fundraiser, we thank you for your support.

🌟Week 6 recap!
Last week bustled with excitement and LOTS of chatter with Head teacher Holly in attendance! Everyone was eager to show off their exam work and super excited to learn the new recital and Broadsword choreography she delivered to classes!
Our Pre-Graders were delighted to receive a balloon treat to mark the middle of the term! 🎈
Pre-Grade viewing is next week….and week 9. Grades 1-3 will follow week 10.
Due to space restriction, bookings are essential. More details will be posted to the groups later in the week.

Saturday we hosted a local highland dancing competition in Waipawa.
Sunday we were treated to a Highland dancing workshop conducted by our judge Kerry Grosser from Western Australia!
It’s been a full week of dance for sure!

This week we settle back into critiquing our Jazz exam work and practicing our new recital material! Exam practice videos will be posted to the groups later in the week.
Our highland dancers now switch focus to NZ Champs preparation! 🇳🇿⚔️
With the cooler weather our jazz pants and studio hoodies have been flying out the door! We are now down to the last few!
We still have a limited supply of secondhand items. Ask at the desk during class changeover if you need something!

Last week we welcomed home Miss Bree!
Bree has been away on a school exchange in Japan! 🇯🇵 Everyone is very excited to have you back at the studio!

Our local highland competition is next Saturday! This is happening at the CHB Municipal Theatre from 9am. Come along and enjoy a day of great food, raffles and of course - highland dancing! Free to view - all welcome!

The first of the Jazz exam information has been sent to the groups!
Entries close early June. We will submit your entry to head office on your behalf. Exams are only 13 weeks away (that’s only 13 lessons!) Attendance is key for achieving the best result!

Viewing is pencilled in for weeks 8 and 9. Due to our space restriction, bookings are essential. More details will be posted to the groups.

Highland dancers - with the comp season in full swing make sure you are following your practice plan and not scrambling for a panic plan! Check your outfits don’t need adjusting and your kilts are freshly ironed! The key to a successful dancer is a prepared dancer!
Our King’s Birthday competition is happening in less than 2 weeks! Be sure to sign up to the workshop with Kerry Grosser following the comp - an amazing opportunity not to be missed!

Lucy Akkersma is Term 2’s giveaway winner. Lucy is now the proud owner of a snazzy pair of snuggle boots. These are just perfect for wearing over your dance shoes to get from class to the studio door!

Our stars from last week - Lucy Akkersma, Maisie Parsons, Florence Jackett, Ellie Bautista and Rose MacLean. Well deserved dancers!
