CHB Athletics is gearing up for another fantastic season!

FIRST CLUB NIGHT: WEDNESDAY 14 OCTOBER 2026
Our season runs from Term 4, 2026 through to the end of March 2027.

⏰ WEDNESDAY CLUB NIGHT TIMES
- Ages 3–6: 5:30–6:30pm
- Ages 7–14: 5:30–7:00pm

🎂 Age groups are based on your child’s age as at 31 December 2026.

🙌 NEW TO THE CLUB?

Come along on Wednesday 14 October and try your first club night before registering — we’d love to have you!

After your first night, athletes must be registered to continue competing so that we meet Athletics NZ and health & safety requirements. ✅

All members, parents, supporters, coaches, officials, and anyone interested in the future of our club are warmly invited to attend our Annual General Meeting.

What a season it’s been! Massive shoutout to our awesome committee, dedicated parents, and our epic athletes who showed up, gave it their all, and made every night count.

So many highlights, PBs, and great performances across the season — we’re seriously proud of each and every one of you!

It’s been awesome to see the continued growth of our Athletics Club and the number of athletes getting involved each season. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Over the many years of our club’s history, some of our official club records have unfortunately been misplaced. While we know there have been some incredible performances over the years, we no longer have a complete record of them.

So, we’ve gone digging through the archives we do have and have compiled results dating back to 2015. From this information, we’re excited to introduce a new set of Club Records that will act as a benchmark for our athletes moving forward.

These records celebrate the performances we’ve captured and set the standard for the years to come. We can’t wait to see our athletes chase them down and continue building the history of our club! 💪

If anyone in the community happens to have older records, results, or photos tucked away, we’d love to hear from you so we can continue to grow our club’s history.

Wow – it’s our last club night for the season!

What an incredible season it has been, with increased memberships and PBs being smashed week after week. A huge thank you to all our athletes and parents for making the 2025/26 season such a great one.

Join us this Wednesday for the final chance to earn points towards our club championship!

Our Prize Giving will be held next Wednesday 25th March, 5:30pm at the Waipukurau Club.
If you’re able to attend but are away this week, please comment below or PM us your numbers so we can plan catering.

Just a reminder about HBG Junior Champs 2026

The Hawkes Bay Gisborne Childrens Athletics Championships are taking place on Saturday 14 March 2026 at Mitre 10 Park, Hastings.

In a change from previous years, parents can now make the entries for their children through AthleticNET. If you have done competitions such as Colgate Games etc. you will have seen this platform used for results, but it also takes entries.

There will be hurdle races at the completion of the event.

Entry cost is $10 per athlete and to be paid on the day at desk to confirm entry when you collect your race number.

Athletes can ony enter five events like Colgate Games and can only compete in the events they have entered, THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUSLY, we are trialling this system for all future events and is very simialr to how you enter the Colgate Games.

If you have entered the Colgate games you will already have a profile so should be easy from there.

On the event page there is information and instructional videos on how to claim an athlete account. Please note for athletes under 13, their account will need to be linked to a parent/caregivers account. If you get stuck please get in touch with Jordan [email protected].

Entries will close on Friday 13 March 2026 at 12:00pm.
