⚖️ The scales don't always tell the full story.

Have you ever stepped on the scales, seen the number go up and immediately felt defeated?

Before you panic, remember this: weight loss and fat loss are not the same thing.

I've seen this recently with one of the ladies in my Transformational Challenge. While the scales increased slightly, her body measurements told a completely different story.

She lost an incredible 12cm across various areas of her body. 👏

This is why I encourage women not to become obsessed with a single number on the scales.

Evidence shows that body weight naturally fluctuates day to day due to factors such as:

- Water retention
- Hormonal changes
- Food volume and digestion
- Increased muscle mass
- Sleep and stress levels

The scales simply measure your total body weight. They don't tell you how much is body fat, muscle, water, or even whether your clothes are fitting better.

Instead of relying solely on the scales, track your progress using multiple measures:

✔️ Progress photos
✔️ Body measurements
✔️ How your clothes fit
✔️ Energy levels
✔️ Strength improvements
✔️ Overall wellbeing

Remember, muscle is more metabolically active and takes up less space than body fat, so it's entirely possible to become smaller, stronger and healthier without seeing dramatic changes on the scales.

Focus on body composition, not just body weight.

The goal isn't simply to weigh less.

The goal is to build a strong, healthy, capable body that supports you for life. 💙🧡

Five years ago, this was just bare land and a vision in my mind.
No grand plan. No guarantees. Just an idea, a dream and the willingness to take one small step at a time.
Fence posts. Shelter belts. Long days. Hard work. Setbacks. Lessons. Growth.

Today, I look around and realise I've created a life that once only existed in my imagination.
There have been challenges along the way, but there's also been something incredibly empowering about building this from the ground up and watching it evolve over time.

Sometimes we become so focused on how far we still have to go that we forget to stop and appreciate how far we've already come.

A reminder that big dreams aren't built overnight. They're built through consistency, patience and showing up, even when progress feels slow.

You don't need hours in the kitchen to eat well. Here's proof. 🍳
I just cooked steak, eggs, spinach, and tomatoes — all in one pan — in under five minutes. One pan. One plate. A knife and fork. That's it.
That's the whole washing up done in two minutes.
The biggest myth about healthy eating is that it takes time. It doesn't. What it takes is a little strategy. And once you have that, it becomes sustainable — which is the whole point.

Here are some of the simplest, most effective approaches:
One-pan meals (like this one) — protein + veg, done in minutes
Stir fries — high heat, quick cook, endless variety
Soups & casseroles — batch cook once, eat multiple times
Spray oil instead of pouring — dramatically reduces fat intake with zero effort
Speaking of oil — this matters more than most people realise.

A lot of people reach for olive oil thinking they're making a healthy choice. And olive oil is healthy — but only when it's not heated. Most common oils, including olive oil, have a low smoke point. When you cook with them at high heat, they break down and they oxidize (degrade and go rancid) if heated past their smoke point losing most of their beneficial properties in the process.

I cook with avocado oil because it has a high smoke point, meaning it stays stable at cooking temperatures and retains its quality.
If you're also trying to reduce fat intake overall, swap to a spray oil. The difference in the amount you use is significant.

The bottom line: convenience doesn't have to mean processed. A wholesome, nutritious meal can be faster than a takeaway order. Keep it simple, keep it consistent — that's where healthy eating actually becomes a lifestyle, not a chore.

Focus on What You Can Control ✨️
One of the greatest causes of stress, anxiety, frustration, and overwhelm is spending too much time and energy focused on things that sit outside our control.

We worry about what other people think.
We replay conversations from the past.
We become frustrated by the actions of others.
We stress about outcomes that haven't happened yet.

The challenge is that no amount of worry, overthinking, or mental energy can change these things.

Mindfulness teaches us to become aware of our thoughts, emotions, and reactions. It encourages us to observe without judgement and bring our attention back to the present moment.

But awareness is only the first step. The next step is deciding where we place our focus.

When we shift our attention toward what we can control, we begin to reclaim our personal power.
We can control our thoughts.
We can control our actions.
We can choose how we speak to ourselves.

We can decide what deserves our time, energy, and attention.. We can set meaningful goals.
We can choose how we respond to challenges.
We can create healthy boundaries.
These are the areas where growth happens.

This doesn't mean we ignore difficulties or pretend challenges don't exist. It simply means we stop handing our energy over to things that are outside our influence and redirect that energy toward constructive action.

Over time, this shift can have a profound impact on our wellbeing.
Stress begins to decrease.
Mental clarity improves.
Decision-making becomes easier.
Confidence grows because we begin trusting ourselves to handle whatever life places in front of us.

Many of us spend years trying to control circumstances, outcomes, and people around us.
Yet the greatest transformation often occurs when we stop trying to control everything and start focusing on the things that are already within our reach.

The present moment.
Our attitude.
Our choices.
Our actions.
Our response.
That is where our power lives.

Just sharing a little core workout today for anyone looking for some ab inspiration or ideas to add into their own routine. 💪

A strong core is about so much more than aesthetics.

It supports posture, balance, stability and the way we move throughout everyday life.

One thing that's become even more important with age is shifting the focus away from chasing a number on the scales or trying to look a certain way and instead investing in long-term health and wellbeing.

Strength matters.

Muscle matters.

Movement matters.

This current season also serves as a reminder that being very lean isn't always the goal and isn't always optimal long term, particularly for women, as it can impact hormones, energy and recovery.

Health isn't about extremes.

It's about finding a way of moving, nourishing and looking after ourselves that is sustainable.

The goal has never been to turn back the clock.

The goal is to flip the script on ageing and continue becoming stronger, healthier and more resilient with each passing year.

Because growing older doesn't mean slowing down. 🤍

In a world that constantly tells us to do more, many people are running on empty.

More commitments.
More pressure.
More information.
More expectations.

Yet despite having access to more health and wellness advice than ever before, many people are struggling with low energy, stress, overwhelm, and burnout.

What I've learned through my work in health and wellbeing, as well as my own journey, is that sustainable change rarely comes from extremes.

It often comes from returning to the fundamentals:

• Nourishing yourself well

• Creating space for rest and recovery
• Building habits that support long-term wellbeing
