❄️The Southern Ocean may just come to life. Hang in there snow fans.

🌬It remains a long way out, but our multi-model blends are beginning to identify a distinct pattern change in around 12–15 days.

🧊The early signals point towards a low-pressure anomaly, with repeated surges of colder air pushing northwards. Some of that air is exceptionally cold, illustrated by forecast snowfall accumulation reaching sea level well south of the South Island.

👀There is still plenty of time for the details to change, but the broader signal is one worth watching.

❄️Snow may start appearing in our 10 day forecasts next week, at incredible levels of detail, intensity and coverage (for all our features).

🌤For now, let’s enjoy the sunshine while we can.
