The biggest myth about paragliding?
That we’re just slowly falling. 🪂

Most people think paragliding is like skydiving, once the parachute opens, you simply float back down to earth 🙅

But here’s the difference…

A skydiver is descending. A paraglider can actually climb.

We use rising columns of warm air called thermals to gain altitude and stay in the sky, sometimes flying for hours without an engine.

And that’s why experienced pilots can fly incredible distances from Queenstown to Wanaka, and even across parts of New Zealand, all in a single flight.

Pretty cool, right? ✈️

It’s one of the biggest surprises we hear after every flight.

The truth is, tandem paragliding feels nothing like standing on the edge of a tall building. It’s peaceful, smooth, and before you know it, you’re too busy taking in the views to think about being high up.
