Round up your team to rehearse for the upcoming North Island Track Champs! This is the perfect place to trial new strategy with your team and test out your bunch racing 12 days out from NISS.

Race 1
A grade: Team pursuit 2000m
B grade: Team pursuit 2000m
C grade: French pursuit

Race 2
A grade: Tempo Points (24 laps)
B grade: Tempo Points (12 laps)
C grade: Derby finals (3 laps)

Race 3
A grade: Madison scratch (30 laps)
B grade: Scratch (16 laps)
C grade: Derby finals (3 laps)

As part of our Plus Battle of the Schools programme, we introduced a brand-new Poster & Design Competition this year.

A huge congratulations to brothers Oscar and Alfie, whose winning designs are now part of Battle of the Schools 2026. Their artwork has been transformed into our official event logo and will also feature on a special poster that every rider will receive on Race Day.

How cool is that? 🎉

Awesome work, boys. We can't wait for you to see your artwork displayed around the Velodrome on Race Day and beyond.

Race Day is this Sunday! Come and see what it's all about. Free for spectators, it's going to be a fun one and great family day out.

It's here! Battle of the Schools Race Day is on this Sunday at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome. We have over 50 school teams coming together to go head-to-head on the track and put all their incredible new skills into practice.

Spectator entry is free! Come along and watch the action. There will be food, tunes, good vibes and a whole lot of fun team racing. Upstairs we will have a Paper Plus Cambridge kids' zone for some family fun too.

Formerly known as the Corporate Challenge, the 2026 Team Challenge is here, and entries are now live!

This year we're expanding the event with both a Corporate Cup and Community Cup, making it easier than ever for workplaces, clubs, sports teams, community groups, and groups of friends to get involved.

No track cycling experience is required, all bikes and equipment are provided, and our six-week coached programme will have your team ready to take on the exciting Italian Pursuit on Race Day.

Training starts 2 August, Race Day is 12 September. Gather your team and get involved!

If you've spent any time around the Velodrome over the years, chances are you've crossed paths with Gary and Leigh Mikklesen.

They've been part of our community for a long time, sharing the training sessions, racing, community and everything in between. Now they're about to take on one of the biggest challenges of their lives.

Together, as part of a Tour de France challenge group, Gary and Leigh will ride every stage of the Tour de France one day ahead of the professional peloton - 3333km over 21 stages. It's a huge undertaking, but with an even greater purpose.

They're riding to raise money and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation...

We’re proud to support the Cambridge Velodrome’s Annual Battle of the Schools, with over 185 students from more than 25 schools taking part this year.
