026 UCI BMX World Championships Recap
This year’s Worlds hit a little differently. Stepping back on the bike as a racer again — instead of being part of the New Zealand pit crew. Aas exciting and special as it was, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel strange watching my Snap Performance athletes from the outside. I missed being in the thick of their Worlds experience, guiding them through the biggest race of their lives.
In saying that… we done something right.
Every single Snap rider performed amazingly, and we came home with many, many world plates. I couldn’t be prouder.
To my riders: congratulations. You showed heart, grit, and professionalism well beyond your years. You made me immensely proud. Thank you for trusting me to guide you through this crazy sport of BMX, it’s a privilege I never take lightly.
As for my own racing… I let myself down a little. One small mistake at Worlds can cost you dearly, and this year it did. That’s BMX and with all the success I’ve had, you’ve got to take the disappointments on the chin. What it has given me is unfinished business — so I’ll be back on that gate next year 🙂
To my riders and your families: thank you again for the trust, the support, and the belief!
You all deserve a couple of weeks off to reset as we roll straight into the Norths in Hawera.
Snap fam — proud of you all.
